I have recently started Vampire Counts, and have been told that you can double the number of skeletons/zombies that you can make from the kits by having them coming out of the ground ect.

Does anyone know of any instuctions/examples of how to do this?
Thanks for any advice you can give!

Hey Raptors,
I think the best way of doing this is just having heads and arms coming out. A well-placed upper arm can add the illusion that they are actually emerging.
Also, having broken ones (missing limbs, legless torso heaps, etc) comes in handy.

Are you willing to use non-GW stuff? Mantic games has REALLY GOOD (or at the very least, better sculpts than GW) undead, and they're also loads cheaper than their GW counterparts. With Mantic Zmobies you can split one zombie into two, so for every three you get four.

With GW zombies, you can use the grave markers in each as unit fillers (maybe add an unearthed grabbing hand to tell that it is "just rising"). You can also split zombies just like with Mantic but it would require some greenstuff and conversion.

How would you go about doing a similar thing with skeletons?
I have the battalion box, but there doen't seem to be any gravestones ect in this one, unlike the zombies.

I just glued the required parts directly to a base. It works ok.

What are you basing them with as you could mound it around them a little to make it look like they're digging themself out a little rather than just adding it to the base as is.

Something like this a little.

I haven't decided on basing yet, but those bases do look good.
