This will be a huge event that promises to be a whole lot of fun. This will be one event were the prizes and fun will worth the drive and time. I hope anyone in the area can make it. We have a bunch of good players coming and i hoping to have this event be the biggest northern california has ever seen.

$5 for painting comp only

Trophies for all placing.
Trophies/prizes for painting competition
Raffled off pro-painted models
Raffled off boxes, blisters, etc (redistribution of Entrance Fees)

Favorite Army:

Armies will be on display before tournament and competitors will be allowed to vote 1 to 10 on each army except their own.
If a person shows up with no time to setup their army for judging, they will not be able to receive scores on this. Plan to be there at near checkin time.
This will cost them the chance at the Favorite Army Award and have a serious detrimental effect on their chance at the Best Overall Award

Best Sportsman

At the end of the tournament, each player will rank their opponents 1,2, or 3 as to who their favorite was.

Painting Competition

Entrants must put up a single model of their choice from their army for judging. The cost of entry is part of your tournament fee.
The model must be completely painted by you. (Honor system)
Entrants can put their model into one of two categories
Recruit (beginner)
Commander (advanced)
There will be a trophy given for the one who takes the Commander competition, and a hobby set (brushes/paint/washes) for the winner of the Recruit category.
If you are not playing in the tournament, but would still like to participate in the competition you can pay a lesser fee to help cover costs of the event ($5.00 maybe?) and enter a single model into one of the categories.

I can't wait for this event. The prize support is in the show case at the game store where it will be held. It looks like there's already over 200 dollars in prizes and gift certificates plus trophies. This has the making for one awesome time.

Yah bro it starts anywhere between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. depending on how many people have figures to be judged in the painting comp. I hope we can see you down here brother. :-)

Redding people!?!? Awesome I do not play 40k but still...

Hell yah we've got a group of about twenty guys that get together on fridays at the Armory the same place the tournament will be held. And we also have another group of about 10 guys at Maxtrix cards and Games. So we have alot of good Tournaments and Events comming up.

Just for everyones information. Because of the Ard Boyz cancelation we will be organizing more and more events over this next year just because we have a lot of hungry competitors in the area looking for a serious tournament outlet so we plan to fufill the needs of the area plus hopfully we will pull some of the BAO crowd with the kind of prize support we will be offering

I may have to drop by. I normally play at Great Escape Games, but I am in Redding a few times a month so I might swing by.

That would be awesome man I hope to see you down at the stores sometime at the armory on Friday nights and at Matrix Cards and Games on wednesdays. We play alot of 40k, but theres also alot of players ready to play fantasy,LotR, flames of war and others.

I cant wait for this event. We will have a hot dog cart on site and some really awesome used armys for sale during the event. So even if you are looking to just get started in the game come on down.

Everyday this event Grows and grows. Im counting the days, this one promises to be a fun fill day with plenty of prizes and good games to be had.

@ doktor_g: We have only 3 ork players in our group and one of them will be running grey knights for the tournament. So it would be awesome to see your green tide down here. So dok I really hope you can make it.

@Masos. How will it be organized? It'll be my first tournement. I've heard that sometimes everyone plays 3 games with 3 different opponents and each game has different deployments and missions? Man I'm stoked!!!!!

It is possible. But unlikely but if you are worried about grabbing one of the spots. Just call the armory and have him put your name on the a light in the grimdark tournament player list to make sure your spot is secure no pre pay nessary.

Due to the TO getting second place in one of our LGS tournaments the prize pool just got a bit bigger. From the tournament winning 30$ store credit. As well as a blister(crowe) and the ravenwing attack bike. Woot!!!

Less then a week from the big event. I can't wait I am bring my mech guard and have a blast. Starts at 9 am hope to see at least 22 people to show up the sign up sheet already has like 18 people on it and I have promises of even more. I hope some of my fellow dakkaers down at the armory for this fun filled day. We got good prize support some really fun missions that are not the normal missions but still manage to stay competitive.

I'm also bringing donuts and a music system, that mixed with the awesome raffles and competitive 40k play this day promises to be an awesome time!

With less then 48 hours before the tourney I'm feeling the crunch time getting my list fine tuned and trying to finish my models for the paint competition.

@ anyone coming from out of town for this event. If you need a place to stay for the night before or after the tournament just let me know via email im sure we can work something out and we will be sure to drink a few beers on me.

Thank you so much for my first tournament. I had a great time and learned a great deal about tactics. You guys confirmed my suspicions that TTWG players are some of the nicest set around.
