hello, im both new to dakka and WH. Started collecting about a month ago. after just buying 4 eldar to paint and 5 space marines to paint originally before deciding my army i went with space marines cause there was just something about them. Ive played 2 game both of which me and my opponent called a draw but i believe i was winning before we quit.
i would like to ask something about my space marines. i have a tank type of thing. so what is this and how can i use this to destroy my current tau opponents. also what guns do these nice fellow have and who is the gentleman in black in this picture http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z427/turban45/IMG00037.jpg

Hey and welcome!
The tank you have is some variant of land raider (The regular one i think.) The guys (Devastators) have a mix of weapons and the guy in black is an assasin.

Welcome to dakka, man. So do you have the Space Marine Codex yet? Just in case you don't know, there are many different kind of Space Marines you can be. You can even create your own chapter.

Welcome to Dakka and WH man. WH is a super fun hobby, and most people on dakka are good for honest and friendly conversation and advice. There's several articles that address the several hobby, rules, tactics, and other question you might have. The tactical aspects, as well as the creativity, not to mention the social aspect of play are fun in their own way. Good luck painting and getting you army together it takes time and money but stick with it.

thanks for the welcome. i have just the space marine codex but i aware of the others. my goal is to find the Turbo's Marines Chapter with every one having jump packs and i mean everyone.

Hey, welcome.
The guy in black is a Vindacare Assassin, looks like he's missing the rifle arm, though.
As for destroying Tau, the Land Raider Crusader is equipped with mostly anti-infantry fire power, so focus on that, and save the Devastators for tanks.
