Is it legal to keep your entire army in reserve, meaning you have nothing on the table on turn 1?

Absolutely. Some army concepts are entirely designed around this idea. Daemons literally cannot deploy any other way, but all drop-pod armies are totally legit, and Eldar and other speedy armies can do it. It's often a good counter-tactic to very shooty armies, for them.

It's tough to do with Chaos. You can't realistically use a Greater Daemon or Lesser Daemons if you're doing this, because they automatically die if they show up on turn 2 and you don't have a champion/icon on the table already.

I don't use Daemons very much since my army is Night Lords and they don't ally with Daemons. It's more for fun than to be competitive.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

There is no downside if you have an army full of deepstrikers or Drop Pods (Outside of playing GK's with Warpquake).
