How competetive is this list? I'm mainly collecting it to paint, rather than play, but I would like to know how well it will stand up. I'm basing it on the Fire Lords chapter of Space Marines - drop pods and flamerspam - so I might be less willing to change some things than others, but advice would be helpful.

I would personally change the terminators for assault terminators, especially with Vulkan at the helm, as he makes TH master crafted. That being said, if it's just for fun then do what you want.

Yeah, I'm aware that TH/SS Terminatorrs are usually taken over regular Terms, but I prefer the regulars' aesthetic. Plus, a friend of mine plays triple Assault Terminator, and I don't want to enroach on his territory, if you get what I'm saying.
Now that you mention it, though, I probably will change my VgV sergeant's relic blade to a Thunder Hammer.
(On a vaguely related note, other than Jaric Phoros, all of the squad names in this list are taken from Hunnic language, as in Attila the Hun. Not used here are Dengizich, Hormidac, Roua and Balamir, but I have plans for them.)

VgV are not worth the points... 255 for a squad you only take to assault out of DS, and sticking them in a DP? losing that ability... Not worth it. Pick up more Sternguards
