Hi! I've been painting up my annihilation barge and I'm stuck with what to paint now. I just finished (still need to weather the edges on it) my monolith from this thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/438790.page and I want my barge to be colorful enough to stick out, but not too colorful and "cheery".

Here's what I know know I want: orange and maybe a touch of white (every warrior has an orange and white head and orange shoulders), blue on the cannon to represent tesla.

Here's what I have so far:

What do you think? What should I paint? What should I remetalize? I'm both very happy and unhappy with how it sits right now and I can't sort it out. HELP!

Yeah, I'm going to detail all the glowy bits green for sure, I just don't kno if it needs more or less orange and where, etc.

I would give the shoulders on the crew a hint of colour and maybe the heads too, just too. Maybe a bit of OSL here and there. Nice clean work though.

Staying on target.....

Yeh the detail thing is the biggest issue here but don't get me wrong it's a good solid start!

More red needed on the crew too

Silver and read? Really?

I see GK necrons !

I'd advise a more 'yellow' orange though.

It really is a lot less red in person... Not sure why it looks so red on my camera

I dont think the blue or the pink matches the silver at all lol.

Try Green or Blue or a deep red, not 2 just 1 of those.

This is what you should do.

Appropriate colors to indicate which sides are in shadow.

Ok, sat down and did some detailing and here's what I have now:

Sorry for the bad pics. It's near my monolith and a few warriors to see how the colors mesh with the army.

I detailed all the glowy bits and control panels green, and added orange to the drivers and a few other bits. I put a tiny tiny it of drybrushed yellow onto the blues of the gun itself to give it a bit more lightning feel. Have a bit of cleanup to do (got some orange on the "cryptek's" eye and basing work) but I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out!

Could use some nice line highlighting.

I completely agree. I have no idea how to do that, though!

Use a thin brush and apply highlight to the edges of the detailing. On outlying edges, use a flat brush and put paint on one side (a small amount of paint, like a drybrush amount) and run the flat side at an angle of the edge so none of the faces get paint but the edge does.

I like, it looks like it been though a few battles and is ready for more. the colour scheme is different than you would normal expect but that makes it interesting. For OSL is good and so is the clean lines.
