I was wondering does gift of chaos work on Saint Celestine? VS

Yes, and until the Spawn is killed, she won't be able to return.
The same should happen with Old Zogworts Curse.
And I play Sisters.

"That's not a CLUB boy, it's a Baton!"
'What do you do with it?'
"We CLUB people with it."

On a boat, Trying not to die.

Yes. Yes it does. And so does Zogwort's curse.

This also belongs in YMDC.

@RayAge: That is incorrect. Anytime Celestine is removed as a casualty or removed from play, she gets to come back. So it will WORK on her, but she still comes back anyways. So you'll have the spawn that replaced her and Celestine herself on the board at the same time.

'Every time Celestine is removed as a Casualty, place a counter...'

Gift of Chaos says 'If a D6 roll scores over the victims's toughness, the victim is transformed into a shapeless blob of flesh and is removed as a casualty.'

So yeah, the chaos player gets a spawn and Celestine gets a chance to get back up.

For Zog, the same thing happens except Celestine is removed from play and replaced by a squig (not removed as a casualty).

Q: Can Saint Celestine use her Miraculous Intervention
special rule against attacks that remove models from
play? (White Dwarf, August 2011, Page 103)
A: Yes.

There is currently not anything that stops Celestine except rolling poorly or the end of game.

She's fearless, but I guess you could have attached her to a unit.

'if any model from a unit that is falling back makes contact with a table edge, the entire unit is removed from the game and counts as destroyed...'

Looks like she got removed from play again.

They made her rule overly broad, imo. With that FAQ answer, you can use it to defeat anything as long as she is on the board and the thing she is trying to defeat caused her to be killed or removed in any way.

Not to take away form the OP, but if Celestine suffers a Deep Strike mishap, she cannot come back because there is no place for her marker. Or would you place it where she mishap?

This is in contention, but... If she's deepstriking, you place the model on the table and then roll scatter. If you get a 'destroyed' result, then she is on the table so you just place a marker.

Iv never really taken a good look at saint celestines points, does it at least make up for / justify her relentless presence on the battle field?

No. She is criiminally underpointed for what she can do.

Yeah, but Celestine and a battle concave lead by Jacobus are the only things in the "codex" that are not over pointed. So we can hardly begrudge Sisters their one shining star.

I know that, however it was worth poinitng out that she is strictly underpointed, in a not very well pointed codex....

It's also a T3 non-Eternal Warrior model that you don't want attached to a unit on the chance they'll fall back - anyone spamming S6 can put her down for the count through ID. Kind of dependent on your good save rolls instead of anything else, where other SCs bring a boost to units or have enough Toughness to not fear every GK Razorback w. ammo upgrade HB.

Put her down for a turn, you mean.

I think you're overestimating the ID part of the equation. Yeah, she can be ID'd, but she's got a 2+/4++. Most of the time, I am happy for people to pour fire into her, it ends up being fire not in the rest of my army.

Also, she can attach and does some interesting things. I attached her to a Jacobus BC one time to assault a Purifier deathstar. +1 Attack + Rerolls to Hit were kind of hilarious for Celestine.

I was thinking falling back from losing combat or a PBS situation, I guess you place the marker on your board edge in that case.

Yeah, you'd have to find a rule that doesn't use the removing casualty or remove from play rules. I'm sure there are some, but I just can't think of them.
