I recently got into an escalation league (I am a little behind on game count) and I want to run my lists that I have an look for input as to what I should do when we add points.
League Rules: Standard FOC, Once a unit is added, it must be in every list after - you can change number of additional models or loadouts - but once it is in - it is in till the end; for makeup games, we have been doing random - but not sure if they are set missions or just random like always.
A couple notes: the 500 point list was made with what I had when I joined up, so far went 1:0 vs an IG (really lucky miss by Marbo) with 3 more 500pt games to go. I have 4 750 points by the end of April. After that - it is +250 every 2 months (1000 - May, 1250 - July, 1500 - September, 1750 - November)
Also, Assume with any suggestions that I can afford the models, I just have to wait until the following wednesday to get them, but I am limited to GW models at this stage (refuse to buy FW and would rather not buy from people unless it is unassembled/unpainted)
500
Overlord - Res Orb, MSS, Phaeron, Power Weapon
Lord - Res Orb
Warriors x8
Immortals x10 - Tesla
750
Overlord - Res Orb, MSS, Warscythe, Phaeron
Lord - Res Orb, MSS, Warscythe
Warriors x9
Ghost Arc (Actually being used for transport)
Immortals x10 - Tesla
Annihilation Barge
I have the rest of this on the way (hopefully here tomorrow).
I am looking at what to add when I increase this list. The next stage I was thinking about adding in another Overlord, a Cryptek or two, and another troop choice (leaning towards immortals) - but would like to hear what everyone else has to say.
Edit: Fixed look, and forgot I had the power weapon on the lord

Best advice I can give: buy a warrior squad, take the scarabs, set aside 4-8 warrior parts to make crypteks.
It takes a bit of work, as you'll have to put together staffs, but if you go out and pick up some green stuff and some plasticard you can make a ton of crypteks that look (imo) better than the bit-made ones (look awkward as hell) and the single vanilla cryptek GW has.
Your basic list is awesome, but with a ghost ark I'd say pick up an additional warrior squad, so you can field one squad inside and one outside.
Warriors+crypteks are always good additions, esp destruction crypteks. I used to try to run all the different flavors of crypteks, but honestly you tend to play GK more often than not, so deep striking is useless, melee is never a fair trade, and that means that wraiths/veilteks/deathmarks are all going to end up showing you the short end of the stick.
I don't even subscribe to GK being op, in my opinion they're just poison thanks to stupid rules that force you to fight them with boring armies.
So yeah, cartload of destruction crypteks, Warriors, just so you have some more, then maybe after that more immortals. Or if you like immortals and you're using your ghost ark like a real transport instead of a support unit then just skip em and go to immortals, but I cant stress enough building TONS of crypteks. You'll never regret the conversions.

I like the look of this list so far
I might suggest that you just put the number of warriors and immortals total in the squad, the current format is a little hard to read. Something like
x8 warriors
x10 immortals
I'd consider getting scythes if you can find the points in your 500 pt list it'll make your squads more tough in assault, with the strength 7 power weapons, maybe drop a warrior to afford it on your overlord since he is a phaeron, and you intend for them to move-shoot-assault.
Just a thought

Also a good choice there, most people forget hyperphase swords are free.
I think you look set at 750 and 500 pts
for another 250 points, you could add in a full squad of 10 more immortals and two crpyteks with a lance if my head math works out right

8 warriors with relentless compare poorly to 8 immortals and only cost 8 points more. That is besides at the 12 inch range, but the strength and the number of hits makes it negligible.
Consider how hard it will be to break transports with these lists. You've got a lot of clumped shots and very marginal ability to hurt av11 or 12. If you are able to break a squad from its shell you'll have a hard time distributing shooting effectively amongst the contents or any other threats.
I like your idea here. I just don't think it's reasonable to cover so few bases in a format where people love taking advantage of inflexibility at this point level. I also think investing a lot of points into expensive close combat nannies. It's just hard to justify at these point levels! I read somewhere that more wounds were better than orbs until the orb is benefitting something like 200 points worth of guys. I guess your expensive lords count to that, but how hard are they working for you?
I'm sorry I'm coming off as a buttlord, I just feel like you are working very hard to get these thing to work at this point level. Get something reliable and nasty! Get some hight strength fire! Divide that shooting! Av 13 is really mean at 500 points! Immortals with crypteks kick butt! Implacable necron infantry blocks require a lot of support and expensive synergy stuff. Might start working at 750 but for now just try to get more shots and diverse answers.

I completely understand what you are saying here and if this was a PnP at a place where everyone took it all HYPER serious, than I would run cheese all around (lancetek squads, barges, 5 man squads, etc).
That being said, the place where I play is very friendly and with everyone in the tourney, there is not one single cheese....well, the ork guy didn't realize that once you had a unit you were stuck for the entire tournement so took two big meks and two deff dreads....and now regrets it....well and there is a necron player who only took 2 5-man troops and basically plays for draws...
As for AV 11/12 - the Barge, with it's shots, on average should do 1-2 glance/pens which is honestly enough to keep it from shooting.
As for the next 250 - I am thinking a barge lord so I can get another court of teks, tremors for the warriors, lance for the immortals or a deathstar
