My friend the other day charged my brothers Zoenthropes and said he wasn't going to attack so the next turn he could kill them and move and charge again. I was under the impression that you must attack even if you don't want to fight.

So must you attack in close combat ?? Can you provide a rule book page reference please.

P34.
Under " Fighting a close combat".
2nd paragraph.
" ... In a close combat, BOTH players' models fight ..."

Also, under "who can fight?" on p35 ...

"ALL engaged models will fight in this turn's assault phase with their full number of attacks and use any special close combat attack they have. "

If the (non-vehicle) models were b2b, they were engaged and MUST fight in the assault phase.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

The definition of "Attacks" in the front of the rulebook also states that it's the number of attacks the model makes in close combat. Not "may make".

That 'may' could be referring to the attacks including bonus' and those affected by special rules.
