It depends on what you mean by Green tide.

If you mean All of your Orks in the army are on foot, then Yes, as long as you follow the force organization chart for that tournament.

Check with the TO.

Downside is that pieplates will have an easier time of destroyign your units (as they'll be clumped up) and the trays reduce your mobility through terrain (as a rank and file block has a hard time navigating it).

I would just get hopped up on Caffiene/Meth/Whatever you prefer (caffiene and chocolate for me ) and move them as fast as you can.

You can get movement trays to keep your orks 2" apart. this keeps them properly spaced and actually reduce pie damage.

The big trick is moving them properly, as you'll have the urge to pivot and that will send some orks well over 6". But it will really help speed up deployment and the first turn movements.

You can get movement trays with 2" spacing that hold 6 Orks.
Speeds up the movement, but allows flexibility of movement.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Where can I get them at and are they set for round bases?

I saw them at a gaming convention.
I think they may have been GF9
Alternatively get some MDF and a 1" hole cutter.

Works for me

I can move a Green tide in about the same amount of time as many of the people i play against with smaller armies move their forces, as my decisions will be simpler and fewer. The units are bigger, but there is less tactical thought and second guessing involved

Being Javanated helps

I know a guy who swears by taking 7000 times the RDA of vitamin B 12 and another that cuts cold coffee with red bull..

(non-legal recreation chemicals added for comedic purposes only Don't try them at home, folks )
