So I'm still a noob at this and I'm having trouble building a decent G.P.G list. I'm trying to maximize the shenanigans with the Kampfgruppe rules, but an running into blanks.

HQ
x2 Panzerfaust SMG teams, x1 Panzerschreck Team, x3 kfz 251/1 - 125

Combat Platoons
G.P.G Platoon - x1 Panzerfaust SMG Team, x6 MG Teams, x1 kfz 251/10, x3 kfz 251/1 - 230
G.P.G Platoon - x1 Panzerfaust SMG Team, x6 MG Teams, x1 kfz 251/10, x3 kfz 251/1 - 230
Heavy Platoon - x1 SMG Team, x2 MG42 Teams, x2 kfz 251/2 + observer/kubelwagen, x2 kfz 251/9, x2 kfz 251/1 - 255

Weapons Platoons
P.G AA Platoon - x3 Armoured kfz 10/5

Divisional Support
Panzer Platoon - x3 Panzer IV H - 270
AT Platoon - x1 SMG Team, x4 PaK 40 - 205
Light Panzerspah Platoon - x1 kfz 223, x2 kfz 222 - 110
Rocket Launcher Battery - x1 SMG Team, x2 Observer Teams + kubelwagen, x4 NW42,x1 Pak 38 - 205

9 Platoons with the above.

Using the Kampfgrupped bumps it up to 10 platoons:

x2 SMG Panzerfaust/x2 kfz 251/1
x1 Panzerschreck/x1 kfz 251/1
x2 HGM/x1 kfz 251/1
x4 MG/x2 kfz 251/1
x2 kfz 251/9

The kampfgruppe is a large offensive force and the two short platoons can be used for defense/flanking. I'm really not sure about that heavy platoon, but since NW42s don't have smoke, I needed to get it somewhere and the Cannon and HGM add size and teeth to the kampfgruppe.

I still feel really light on AT (3 Pz IVs, 4 Pak40, 1 Pak38), especially against heavy tanks, but aside from Panthers and Tigers (too expensive for G.P.G) or PaK43s, which aredefinitely an option (but I lose a good number of PaK40s and possibly the Panzer IVs as well).

Three Panzer IVs seems too light on top of that.

Any thoughts/advice? I'm kinda stuck going back and forth on this.

Only eight platoons. Don't count your HQ element.

As a laid this list out in your V3 army brief, here is 1500pts of GPG:

Gepanzerte Panzergrenadierkomapine
*Kompaine HQ*
- CiC Panzerfaust/ SMG & 2ic Panzerfaust/ SMG teams

*Combat Platoons*
Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon
- HQ section w/ 3 x Panzergrenadier squads
- Upgrade Sd Kfz 251/1 HT to a Sd Kfz 1/10 (3.7cm) HT @ no cost.
Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon
- HQ section w/ 3 x Panzergrenadier squads
- Upgrade Sd Kfz 251/1 HT to a Sd Kfz 1/10 (3.7cm) HT @ no cost.
Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon
- HQ section w/ 3 x Panzergrenadier squads
- Upgrade Sd Kfz 251/1 HT to a Sd Kfz 1/10 (3.7cm) HT @ no cost

*Weapons Platoons*
Gepanzerte Mortar Platoon
- HQ section w/ 3 x mortar sections
Panzergrenadier Anti-Aircraft gun Platoon
- 3 x Armd Sd KfZ 10/5 (2cm)

*Divisonal Support Platoons*
Panzer Platoon
- 3 x StuG IV
Light panzerspah Platoon
- 1 x Panzerspah Patrol. Replace all Sd Kfz 222 (2cm) w/ Sd Kfz 221 (2.8cm) @ no cost.

I to am somewhat short on AT, but would bump this kompaine up with some heavy AT guns, or heavy AAA guns.

Again, I am a bit 'meh" on the heavy weapons platoons. I'd rather be able have more fast moving, objective taking infantry platoons.

I'd have to sit down tomorrow after work and look over Grey Wolf.

The third G.P.G platoon seems completely unneeded. There is already enough MG fire in the list. AT is what is needed.

The V3 book doesn't have a Mortar Platoon available so I have no idea where that is coming from. The only way to get mortars is from the Heavy Platoon (which is the main reason I included it) and requires at minimum one HMG section in addition to the Mortar section. The Gun section was only added to give the Kampfgruppe some more teeth.

So using your list, I'd cut out the third G.P.G Platoon and add the Heavy Platoon back in and/or add in Artillery/Infantry Gun platoon. The Stugs are nice, but to save on points I went with Pz IVs. Would use any extra points for more AT.

At 1500 to get a decent amount of AT it just doesn't seem feasible to add Panzers or Stugs in (pricey) as opposed to Marders, Cannons (for side-armor shots), PaK 40s, and/or Arty.

The above list is made from GW. So, yes, the mortar platoon does exsist as a GPG Mortar Platoon.

The above is an example that I posted in one of your other threads. Not meant to be a take over for your list.

You already seem set with the HGPG platoon, Paks and your arty. So your on y really asking as to weather you need to drop down the medium armour to little tankbunters, allowing you to drop in more AT guns.

Try it out and see what happens. AT gun teams have a better chance dug in now with a 3+ save.

Oh! I didn't realize. I thought you had said it was from V3.

Thought it was V3 which is why I kept the HMG here. I like the idea of more reliable mortar cover.

I like the GPG mortars, but never had the disposable icome to drop down on a full platoon fo them. The HMs seem pretty redundant with the MG teams + half-tracks.

I'd take the StuGs over the Panzer IVs, as the additonal front armour gives them a bit more protection.

Hi folks.
Are the 8.8 cm heavy AA option available in GW?

As it is a good way of adding serious long range anti tank , if the air threat is not an issue.

Just a thought...

Yes it is; mainly it is Luftwaffe Heavy AA though.
