Subject: Just played again... A few more Q's............

We just played the craziest game of WHFB tonight, Ups and Downs all over...
Turn 1: My Grudge thrower blows itself up =[ 2 Miscasts and a 1!.... Same turn the Chaos Sorcerer implodes killing himself =]
Turn 2: 10 xbow men down 3 Chaos Knights! =]
Turn 5: Chaos Chariot Steamrolls my Organ Gun wiping it out and then proceeds to hit the flank of my Warriors. =[
Turn 6: I beat his Chaos Warrior SB down and win the game on some sort of win mechanic to do with leaders and banners on the field?
Q's:
Is it possible for a Dwarf engineer to be between 2 WM's and bounce back and forth between the two? Can he switch but only dedicate himself to one per round? Or can never leave once added?
If a Chariot simply annihilates a WM and overruns into a new unit does it get to attack with its impact hits AGAIN? Because this thing was EVIL!...
I'm sure i have more Q's but right now the brain is blank... Ill try to add to this thread when i rem....

Dunnoi don't play dwarfs, didja check the FAQ? Milisim wrote:If a Chariot simply annihilates a WM and overruns into a new unit does it get to attack with its impact hits AGAIN? Because this thing was EVIL!...
If a unit wipes the enemy and then reaches another unit there are three options. 1. The unit contacts a fresh unit that is fighting noone else, in this case that combat (including any impact hits) is resolved in the next CC phase. 2. The unit contacts a unit that is fighting another of your units but combat has already been resolved, in this case that combat is resolved in the next CC phase. 3. The unit contacts a unit that is fighting another of your units but combat has yet to be resolved, in this case when that combat is resolved that unit get's to participate.

Dwarf Engineers, unlike Empire ones, are bought FOR a warmachine, they are not heroes. So no to your first question
Yes, if it overruns and contacts anbother unit, it counts as charging, meaning it would get impact hits again - whenever it fights, which could be the same turn if the unit it contacted was already engaged.

I just read in the dwarf army book that the Master Engineer is a character....... Not the regular Engineer as yes he is merely an upgrade.... to the crew...
So the Q now is can the Master Engineer assist 2 seperate War Machines in the same Shooting phase if he is within 3" of both? Or is it a 1x use on the first WM to fail.

1 use per turn is how I always read it.

The FAQ specifies that one war machine within 3" may receive the Master Engineer benefit. Generally, I imagine this to apply to the first machine you choose to use it for. In other words, if you have a bolt thrower and two grudge throwers within 3" of the same Master Engineer, you can only apply the bonus to one of the 3, but may decide as each machine fires.

someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but if a WM is completely destroyed in CC (i.e. no CR required), the winning unit can overrun. But if a WM crew fails their leadership test after losing combat and fleas, the winning unit has to stay and "destroy the WM", i.e. they can't pursue, try to restrain, or overrun?

No that is completely wrong. If you read on page 110, it states "If the war machine loses combat and fails its break test, it is destroyed." Since the unit was destroyed, you may overrun as normal.

if it charged that turn (which I admittedly didn't clarify and overlooked). If not, they just get a free reform since there's nothing to pursue, technically (even though the crew technically "flees"). Which I suppose applies to some of what I was saying (it came down to a "even though the WM is destroyed, the crew technically 'fled' too" discussion). I just totally overlooked the overrun aspect. My bad! (My Dwarven crew never break after the 1st round!)

More Questions arise:
Can a Chariot Charge into H2H with a unit in a forest..... ? Does the chariot take a Dangerous Terrain test and if it passes then proceeds as normal or if it fails does the chariot takes its saves against its wounds still continue with the charge? Either way it ALWAYS hits?
If a WM is ENTRENCHED and is hit by a chariot does it simply attack with a -1 to its WS? Does is take a Dangerous terrain test? Does it nullify the ability to Impact Hit?
I dont have my BRB with me and we were talking about it last night
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh and he used a spell on me.... Something about every member of the unit hits each other????
Whats the name of that spell I cant find it,.....

I don't know about your other questions, but the spell is Treason of Tzeentch, its not in the main book as it is a Lore of Tzeentch spell and is found only in the WOC army book. may be why you can't find it.
basically what it does is: select a unit, then cast it(9+), if the unit is 24" the unit attacks itself(all the models swing at the unit itself). the spellcaster's player gets to pick what weapons are used. characters mounts cannot be effected by the spell. test for panic and etc as normal(if called for).

Passing or failing a dangerous terrain test has no effect on how far you move; if you fail it you take wounds and, if you survive continue on to make contact as usual.
It depends on the obstacle - if it removes bonuses from charging then you dont get impact hits.

So would an Entrenched WM with a Master Engy remove the charging bonus?
Thanks about the Spell Info... He cast it with IF and I lost 8 Dwarfs in the unit... It sounded pretty over powered at first... but since he blew his Wizard up with it I was happy =]
