Hi there Dakka,

I was in a game the other day and i had the opportunity to ram/tank shock my opponents Trygon and/or Genestealer squad with my Open topped Ork Battle Wagon with a deffrolla. Perhaps I missed the rules on what happens when I elect to ram either of those units but i could not find what happens when I do (only what happens when i do to other vehicles). Can someone explain the sequence of events that may happen when I choose to make a move such as that? Could I potentially kill any of the genestealer squad? Or wound the trygon? Or do they just move to the side? Please keep in mind I do have a deffrolla equipped.

Thanks for the help

Page 68 and half of 69 in the Rulebook are dedicated to this, as is the Deff Rolla rule on page 55 of the Ork codex.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Avatar has it correct, Keep in mind that you only RAM vehicles, you Tank shock non vehicle units. Note that ram is a special form of tank shock.

Ok, with that said and keeping reference to the Deffroller rule, provided I Tank Shocked a squad of Genestealers (10) regardless of whether or not they pass the test or not, would they all take a STR10 +d6 hits against them? Furthermore, it doesn't mention they they can or can not take saves, would they?

By tank shocking the unit, you are fulfilling the requirements of the Deff Rolla, and so yes a unit will take the hits regardless of whether or not they pass the test (remember that units that do pass and attempt a Death or Glory! suffer a further D6 hits).

As for saves, does it say saves may not be taken? No. Then saves are allowed.

Whether they make the test or not they suffer D6 S10 hits. Saves allowed.

If they attempt a Death Or Glory they'll take 2D6 S10 hits (if they succeed or not, doesn't matter).

Thanks for the help.
Just to play devils advocate here, it doesn't say that saves are allowed thus the rules are not entirely clear. My apologies for misreading the rule book and whatnot giving that I am a new player.

Regards, Vid.

The rules are clear - you have permission from page 20 to take saves, so a rule has to disallow you the save otherwise you can take it.
