Hi all

Kingdom death have posted a new preview of a upcoming release on the thier facebook, seems to be a alternative female survivor.

Female Adventurer:

Seems to be based off this image:

They will try to release this for the end of April if all goes to plan, no details if this going to be a limited run or general release.

A very nice looking miniature, looks like more of a display piece than a gaming miniature.

An awesome looking model, if a little less than... heroic. Would make a fantastic element to a diorama.

I like it. Ditto on the display piece. Diorama makers are going to have a field day with it I'm sure.

I can't imagine this adventurer being anything more than a victim in every diorma.

Well, there's a time in every party when the gaks hit the fan - the Wizard ran out of spells right when the dragon attacked, the Cleric bit the bullet when the Rogue missed that trap, and the Paladin decided to call out a challenge to the Tarrasque instead of running away like you suggested.

At that point, you've just got to hope your Stealth is high enough to keep you alive, and you keep very, very still. Dunno why she didn't ditch the latern.

If I remember rightly, light is meant to be important in the Kingdom Death setting.

It's a nice model, I suspect it'll be in demand as I can see it festooning the bases of many monsters...

Maybe it will look better painted, but I can't help but think that the sculpt completely fails to capture the "Oh, gak." expression of the concept art.

I can't imagine this adventurer being anything more than a victim in every diorma.

But at least she is not being raped by a giant boob monster.
Extreme mould slippage on the hand holding the lantern. Otherwise a nice smooth sculpt. I like that she is wearing clothes (sort of). Though the concept pic looks scared, the mini looks blank, also not sure why she's holding a lantern if she's hiding.

I dont like it, here is why.

The original picture, it conveys a feeling of unsettling uneasiness as if the girl is waiting for something to pass by all the while preparing for an opening for her next action.

Yet the sculpt conveys that she is winding down from a pursuit for a rest. ( notice the position of her right leg )

One is winding up, one is winding down, total opposite

I want to say you're overanalyzing it, but you hit it spot-on.

The mini itself, the right leg especially, looks like its relaxing.
The concept art has a "I hope that thing didn't see me" alert-fetal position.

Pretty decent model! Hard to match the emotion shown in the face in the concept art, but it's definitely not bad.

Damn, she's got some nice thighs. lol

But yeah, I like the concept art better, too. Then again I imagine it's difficult to convey emotions on a figure this small anyway. That and the paintjob probably makes a difference.

The painting certainly will.

The sculpt's bottom eye lid is visibly swollen
it shows she was crying, about to cry, in desperation and despair

Anyone play this game, yet?

Any sculpts of her, like... doing something?

IMOP, this one is pretty ... meh, compared to the rest of the range.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Yep, definitely put her on the base of a Minotaur or beneath a leaping Wych or Archon. Maybe toss down some IG kit next to her and have a Noise Marine mounting the rubble behind her. Hell, they could do a whole line of "Victims" both male and female in various poses and I would gobble that stuff up!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

I dont think the leg position is what changes the posture of the mini for me, the leg looks like is folded down to be behind the little bit of wall, like she is conscious of the leg revealing her postion. To me it is the mouth shape and the angle of the head, it lacks the breathless fearful look that the picture expresses.
