My youthful outlook, cutting edge fashion and glamourous girlfriend suggests I am mid to late twenties.

My passport, increasing grumpyness and lack of hair suggests I am 35.

One of these statements is untrue.

Pretty much that way with every historical wargame.

I'm 24 and started historical wargaming when I was 16.

The local club were all in their 40s 50s 60s. One in their 70s and one in their 80s.

The Scifi and fantasy club here is a lot younger. Not one guy above 35. all of them but one is either 18 - 28.

I still remember when the person I was playing a game of FoW against told me he had retired that day...

It is the same with the Sci-fi and fantasy club here, I think the oldest person I played WH40K against with was in his early 30s. Only exception is Warmachine, which is played some of the FoW players. It has people ranging from 18-50 playing it, with about an even distribution of ages.

34 here!
Seems like a big gap between twenty and thirty here?! Count only 3 or 4 in their 20s... Maybe stuff for a social study on the lifecycle of a wargamer?

Yes a social study would be interesting, I always think the army you choose says a lot about your psyche and ego. Same with D&D characters.
