Splattered With Acrylic Paint

Sydney

Hi All

So when i was 13, all I wanted in the world was Warhammer 40K and a lifetime subscription to White Dwarf. Of course, having no money meant this never came to fruition (Although I did at one point have a standing arcade version of Street Fighter 2, so some dreams did come true).

Now that I'm 30 and have money to spend on a hobby, I have heaps of gear, but of course - no time.

Attached is the first miniature I've painted in at least 10 years. At times I scraped together cash and the occasional marine and some filthy old Tamiya acrylic - so I've had some practice, but obviously need a fair bit more.

Having spent 2 weekends worth of free time on this one nob, I don't imagine I'll be starting an army any time soon, ('cause its mega bad karma to play with unpainted miniatures) and I reckon I'm going to have to give up my dream of a 2000 point "Urzug Gobsmasha's 'Undred an seventeenteen kompazit Ork Tarsks Forz" Army, but hopefully I'll get to paint the whole AoBR box set - 'cept for the tac team which I gave to my friend Andy for his Ultra Marine army.

Hope you guys are doing good.

Sweet.

PS - if you're wondering what the case is, its real dirt from the street that I painted because i was desperate to get finished and couldn't get to a beach to get some real sand. :(

Well hello,

To be honest that is quite good for your first in 10 years. I came back after 9 years and I might as well have painted with broken hands.

Your flesh tone and arm band are great, remember that is a NOB not a HQ so he is not your prize model to show off. Welcome back and congrats on the extra money for a good hobby.
