Subject: Fantasy League?

So after running a surprisingly successful tournament last month at my LGS I have been toying around with an idea for a summer league at the store.
As of right now I'm thinking it will start at 500 points and then end with a 2000 point tournament (I've been running the tournaments at 2500 but want to change it up). I'm thinking each level would be played over a 2 week period.
I'm debating the following options for things to add to the league to make it interesting.
Winning league games knocking off points of magic items at 1 point per win
Seeding at the tournament
Some sort of map to encourage different game times, perhaps including supplemental books and fixed terrain/scenarios?
List escalation meaning what units at 500 show up again at 1000, 1500 etc, however characters would not be subject to this due to the percentage changes
I'll take any ideas or feedback I've never done something like this before and want to get all the basics covered.

I like the concept, but don't understand the first bullet at all. Can you elaborate?
I'm currently running a Blood in the Badlands style campaign and have a number of lessons learned, though on a whole, I think its going well...

I believe he means, that for each win in league play your enchanted shield will lose a point of value so like 4 points but still retain its power to a minimum of zero points.

You might want to google the old warbands rules if you are running an escalation league.
Also check out the D6 generation, they have x-cam rules that combine campaign and tournaments.

That is correct. It would be league only rule that would not translate to the tournament (out of fairness for those who may show up out of town or who could not play).
