On a boat, Trying not to die.

Hey Lego!

I have a bit of an odd question, but here we go:

I was once chowderhead13. I got my name changed to Chowderhead a few years back. I was just wondering if both chowderhead13 and Chowderhead are now taken names, as I am using one and was using another.

Long story short: If a name is changed, is the name taken off the used names list, or is the profile name changed, and the old username is up for grabs?

Old username is up for grabs at that point.

Wait, we can get our names changed?

Would it be possible for me to get the C in corpsesarefun capitalised? It's annoyed me for years.

Capitalisation changes are alright (within reason), but name changes are only done if a user is new and made a typo registering, or if there are significant mitigating circumstances justifying the change. Changing a name messes with a few internal systems so has quite a bit of potential overhead for us, and as mentioned, if it is not a case change then people can grab your old name too which is one of the many reasons we dont just let established users change their name.

...so just to necro this (a little), I couldn't get my username changed because on second thought I'd like to go with an alias instead of my real name?
I'd have to just register another acc?

Do not start a new account please. Instead, send me a PM with what name you want (and do a username search from the 'forum tools' link above to double-check that your new choice isn't already in use).
