I've been looking at the forge world minotaur models and a hole is burning in my wallet to buy the models for it.
Only thing is which army can they be used for?

My main though would turn me to just plain old space marines.
I have read others use blood angels.

My opinion and question is that could i get away with using them as grey knights for the purpose of using the halberds for the army and that i feel the helmets are more suited to that minotaur look according to the new ivanus and asterion models.

opinions? thought?

Codex: Space Marines.

The special characters in the Badab War Forge World book is also written for Codex: Space Marines.

Edit: My mistake. There are two named characters in the Badab War books. Rather silly of me since these are the two guys in this set by Forge World...

Chaplain Ivanus Enkomi and Chapter Master Asterion Moloc, whose rules follow the Codex: Space marines.

The two Minotaurs special characters are both additions to Codex: Space Marines, so I'd presume that's what Forge World intend. I'd have no particular problem either way, though I think the Grey Knights option rather more dubious than either of vanilla or Blood Angels. FW also revealed this week that they might well be producing more Minotaurs stuff, including helmets, so you might do well to wait and see...

Agreed with just Codex: Space Marines. I don't think the Minotaurs are a very divergent chapter.

BA, maybe, if you kept things as vanilla as possible, meaning you really were just doing it to run assault marines as troops. Grey Knights, I dunno... pretty hard to justify.

The description on Forgeworld of Asterion Moloc being "bloody-handed" and "a byword for slaughter and destruction in the name of the Imperium across a hundred worlds" had me thinking Blood Angels/Black Rage, but I've not read any of the Badab war stuff -- just what's on Forgeworld's site. I agree with others that Grey Knights would be a bit of a stretch. Probably standard Codex Space Marines marines would be most fitting.

The FW-version is basic Space Marines. But I believe it does replace Combat Tactics with some Furious-charge-style rule, does it not? So it swings the way towards non-Jump Pack Blood Angels quite a bit.
