There's some rumors flying now about the future ME3 DLC and the possible ending alterations/additions. Be warned, the source is an anonymous poster to 4chan... so.... yeah... Stack that salt high people.

A person who claims to be an ex-employee of BioWare leaked quite a bit of information on 4Chan. The person says they worked for BioWare for over 8 years, and that they want to give everyone an insight on what BioWare has become. They also posted some things about upcoming releases such as Terminator. If you would like to know what the person actually said on 4Chan, you can click here. I have also summed it up below as well.

About BioWare And EA Games

“For about 5 years now, the company has been dominated by EA Game’s strict timetables and budget restraints,” the person wrote. “To the fans: please do not be discouraged by what little PR EA allows to get out. BioWare is still full of people who love video games, who want to put passion into their games–but they are being stifled. Do not be angry with BioWare. Be angry with those who are stifling them (EA Games). Your anger is not enough. Speak with your money. It is the only language EA understands.”

What he means is that everyone should cut back on buying games and such from EA. If enough people stop buying EA’s products, they will be forced to listen to what the fans want.

Terminator Information

“Terminator is a post-ending DLC. It has been in production for months,” wrote the supposed ex-BioWare employee. “Javik was originally from Terminator, but they bumped him up because they felt Mass Effect 3′s cast was too small. Terminator is about the party crash landing on a Prothean planet on the edge of Sol, and then they have to figure a way to make contact with the rest of the system and get off the planet.”

“When they do get space born, they return to Earth, which is gripped in a war. Certain species are demanding they be allowed to take the most advance space ships out of the system because Sol can not support them,” the ex-employee continued. “There is also mass panic because the relay transport system has been destroyed, and Sol’s remaining resources are going to run out in less than a year.”

“Shepard has been found on Earth, but he is badly injured and in a coma. He was burned badly during atmospheric re-entry, and certain synthetic components of his brain were shut down. Chakwas is certain that if he ever awakens, it will be in a vegetative state. At this point, it is suggested that Shepard’s broken synthetic parts could be replaced with new ones.”

“The party then splits up, and you (the player) go to three different planets or areas to find synthetic components that may be able to help him. It is revealed that one of the valid components can be extracted from EDI. Joker allows them to do so. Though still badly wounded after the synthetic pieces are installed, Shepard finally awakens. He makes a speech at the Spacescraper (a piece of the Citadel that crash landed on Earth along with Shepard, now used as a center of operations) that ends the Sol War.”

“After that, you get a unique cut scene based on who you did or did not romance in Mass Effect 3. This is not addressed in the Terminator DLC, but from the moment Shepard comes out of the coma, he is the Catalyst. Shepard permanently died during atmospheric re-entry. The characters and the player are not aware that it is not the real Shepard, and this will not be revealed until Mass Shift, the spiritual successor to the Mass Effect series.”

Mass Shift Information

“Mass Shift is not Mass Effect 4. Mass Shift will involve the same universe, characters, and story, but it will be more action-oriented,” wrote the ex-employee. “Space flight, for example, will be as intricate as Mass Effect 3′s combat. In Mass Shift, you will actively fly Murmur, a Reaper that is controlled by the Catalyst.”

BioWare has not come up with how this will work yet, but they were comparing flight to Gradius 3 and Kingdom Hearts 2.

“Xy was actually going to be a DLC character for Mass Effect 2, but he was axed in favor of Kasumi, who was modeled after the sister of a staff member who kept baking the entire staff cookies. They are introducing him in Mass Shift instead. BioWare has been meaning to introduce a main character suicide plot for some time now. Though the details for Mass Shift revolves around the Catalyst who seeks to prevent the galaxy from advancing synthetics.”

“This pits the Catalyst against the entire galaxy, which is forgetting about the threat synthetics pose. Throughout the game, the Catalyst will endure inner turmoil caused by his ‘other side’ (EDI), who carries the belief that synthetics and organics can peacefully co-exist. Mass shift will have more tactical combat, but with less cover (other minor things have changed such as Mass Shift’s primary antagonist does not wear a typical Volus suit, which means you will see most of his body) . Mass Shift takes place about one millennium after Mass Effect 3″

His little talk about EA was spot on. They ruin so many games that would have been so much better if EA wasn't on their backs.

The rest I take with pretty much no credibility at all. If that is the actual DLC, its fething stupid. I will be majorly disappointed in Bioware if that is the actual DLC and not a bunch of bs like I think it is.

Honestly, the DLC makes no sense whatsoever, and it just sounds stupid.

Mass Shift sounds like a bunch of bs. Sounds like every fans fear come to fruition with further moving away from story and more action.

If the guy is spot on and absolutely correct then Bioware isn't the Bioware we used to know. They are simply the puppet of EA if the above is true.

I'm certainly curious to see if its true. The information to me seems plausible (Mass Shift for example seems in line with my theories on the future of the series). But its 4chan. And more than that, this was posted some time late last night (meaning April 1st or early in the morning of April 2nd). I'll also point out the original thread is no longer on 4chan.

So while I find this information fascinating as a theorist, I'm really iffy on whether or not I believe it.

The title of the DLC stinks of troll as well. Its obvious its making a reference to Shepard being the Terminator and that just stinks of April Fools.

I hold no stock in it after I reread it a second time. Too stupid to be true.

I hate to be "that person", but I don't buy the idea because of two reasons. The first being that it all sounds stupid and, as you said, stinks of trolling, but second being I'm not willing to believe the "indoctrination" theory is wrong.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

I think "Terminator" is stupid and bogus. I also happen to think Indoctrination is probably wrong. Finally I think the problem with ME3 was just plain old crappy writing combined with money grubbing horse pucky.

Trolling is also very high on the probability list

EDIT: Not that 4chan is a bad place for internet rumors, but the trolling rolled up into a single website should have hit critical mass, divided by zero, and imploded years ago.

Quite simply it doesn't sound right. That's not to say that it is definitely wrong but I will remain sceptical until such time as these DLC/games start being previewed (they also sound pretty pump).

Well, for a start the terminator dlc can only apply if we did the destroy ending since the other two specifically involve Shep being disintegrated. Also how can EDI offer a piece of herself to rebuild Shephard if she like all other synthetic life was meant to be destroyed due to you completing the only ending where Sheps body is still intact. Also, it would make no sense for the races to start attacking eachother after having just done something that epic. Realistic, maybe. But it wouldn't sit right with regards to following on from an epic confrontation and would be quite jarring. A show of unity followed immediately by bloodshed. At least Skyrim waited a few decades after Oblivion before they took a hammer to the unity of Tamriel. Finally Shpehard being the Catalyst? How? And why would the Catalyst be evil. The ending as it stands is pretty clear that the catalyst was a good guy the whole time and really wants you to ruin his previous plans. It could have simply let Shpehard die and would have nothing to gain by killing the reapers unless it wanted to change. Theres no way of making such a U turn palatable. Finally as noted before Shephard can only come back via destruction. Destroying synthetic life and any synthetic parts inside Shep will KILL the catalyst like it did the reapers. He wouldn't just wake up inside Shephards flesh.

Its quite clear that the poster is refering to the indoctrination theory and not the ending as it stands. He refers to the catalyst as evil, he assumes that Shephard survives and that the death of synthetics wouldn't actually have happened. This all makes the idea of him being a Bioware guy who left with a bag of ideas impossible to credit since it meshes more with the indoctrination theory (belatedly) than it does with the actual three endings. Not only that but if you say Mass Shift really quickly its quite clear that we have a Troll in our midst. Just remove the f; then add ive to Mass if you're feeling mean.

TBH I'am not as bothered about ME3 DLC since the new Skyrim rumour came around. So I'am currently looking forward to 'fight the fight in old Skyrim' and really hope that this 'Dawnguard' thing is to do with Azura's realm. Shivering Isles was so awesome that going to another Daedric realm would be excellent.

Seems interesting, i like these ideas so this makes me dubious as to their validity.

Oh and Mass Shift is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE name. Just say it to yourself 'Masschift', it sounds ridiculous. Mass effect is a good name as it is a pleasing Spondee, a good two syllable name needs to be a dibrach, two short sharp syllables: 'Skyrim', 'Burnout', 'Zelda' etc.

Sighs. Well, I wonder when that Skyrim DLC's coming out.

I would have imagined more tact rather than a thinly veiled ' you' from Bioware. I'll admit, I was wrong about the indoctrination thing; I had hoped bioware was better than this.

Although I hate hate hate HATE the endings (all of them) for ME3, I respect the fact that bioware's willing to stand up for their endings. In the end, it's their story. I wouldn't ask a novelist to change the ending to his/her book because, in the end, it's his/her mind and his/her characters.

The only reason we don't like their ending is because it doesn't make any sense and is filled with a truly unacceptable amount of plot holes for the standard that Bioware has set for itself in the past.

I'll put it this way the ME3 ending makes the KotOR2 ending (which is infamous for being unfinished) look really damn good.

I got a lot more closure out of KotOR2. ME3 is just wtf is this poo?

I think part of the problem is that so much of the furor surrounding the ending was about Shepard dying, which isn't really legitimate criticism.

That said, there are some big plot holes. Why is Joker flying away from Earth? Why are some of the party members I took with me in the final assault on that ship? Why are some the party members that were on Earth, on that ship?

I can deal with the ambiguity regarding what happens with the Catalyst, that's fine because there has always been a lot of ambiguity regarding the Reapers in general. In fact, if that's the direction they wanted to go, there should have been more ambiguity.

Personally I had no problem with Shepard dieing. I really expected it in ME3 the whole time because it just fits and Bioware said they aren't continuing with him.

Yeah, while that was kind of cool, you knew it wasn't going to matter because the game is fully voiced. If you allow Shepard's death to affect ME3 by introducing a new MC, you have to voice act 2 MCs, and one which most people will never see. I mean, who really let Shepard die?

Though saying that, I'm tempted to go back and get everyone except Shepard killed to see what happens in ME3, though I'll most likely let someone else do it, and read about it.

I was referring to M2's opening, not its ending XD Maybe I should have been more specific.

EDIT: I was actually hoping that loading a dead Shepard into ME3 would treat the player to a 10 minute cut scene of the Reapers destroying everything. Fade to black. Wait for it. CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE! Roll credits.
