Hey all,

Let us talk about the constraints that, when placed upon your army building, really mess your day up. This is likely to be a bigger thing for GW games than others, due to the emphasis upon list building, but don't hold back. What I mean is that we likely all have some crutch, favourite unit, or just bloody-minded theme that we like to stick to, and I'm curious to hear how people have dealt with having that preference removed for whatever reason. For an example, I just tried to build an Ork list to do doubles with a wraith-wing Necron player. But, working on the assumption of a single FoC, I'm staying away from the fast attack slots; so suddenly my prized warbikes, often ineffective but always cool, are not available. I'm totally thrown by this, and can't seem to work out how to fill the gap in the list; all I want to do is bring some dakkaguns and then get blown away by enemy shooting in turn two (it is a tradition, you see).

So, what about you guys? Do you like these restrictions, and use them to shake your game up? Or do you avoid them, and hate special scenarios as a result?

Why would you share a single FoC?

Certain doubles events will do this.
It's called a "house rule" and is common to a lot of tournaments.

Even the INAT crowd do it (INAT FAQ is essentially a set of house rules that all of those linked events use).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Are you coordinating with the Necron player about how your lists will be built, because he might not be using the whole FA slot.

Otherwise, sounds like this could be a good chance to get yourself out of a rut if you're having such trouble using not warbikes.

I'm having the same issues Charles.

Luckily my doubles team mate was happy to go dark Eldar rather than his traditional SW otherwise I'd never have gotten near the HS slots as long fangs are just too good.
