Sneaky Kommando

This came up in an ork thread, can a squad of purifiers use flame and activate force weapons in the same round of combat since they are Mastery level 1. What if a grand Master or such is with them. Does the brotherhood rule still count them all as one unit so they only get one psychic ability? Is this why you pay the 35 points for mastery level 2 on grand master basically?

No, they'd have to choose between the two powers. And a grand master being present with them wouldn't change this at all. He would be able to activate his own NFW, but no one elses. And he can't do cleansing flame.

If the Purifiers use Cleansing Flame, they cannot activate NFW until the next player turn.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

So the grand master needs to take a a seperate NFW test because he doesn't have the brotherhood rule(or any other HQ that I saw in codex) , but the purfiers have to choose NFW or flame. Neither of which has any bearing on an attached IC's choice or ability.if I have it right.

I'm not sure if thats the exact reason why not, but yes, you have it spot on in the effect.

Correct, its either or for the Purifiers as they are Mastery Level 1.
However, the Grandmaster could have cast Hammerhand which does effect the entire squad. So then the Purifiers would be Str5 and could cast either Hammerhand, Cleansing Flame, or activate their Force Weapons.
