Does Dakka have a Uk ran 40k tournament at the minute?

The Silver Sorcerer and Platinum Devil events were both tournaments organised and run by and for Dakkadakka UK members.

Silver Sorcerer, which was at Warhammer World, hasn't happened for the last year though, and I'm not sure there's one planned this year.

Platinum Devil is tentatively scheduled for July in Canterbury, but awaiting confirmation.

Keep me posted Ian. I am currently looking to attend a tournament sober. ;-)

Why only UK?

I used to play FUMBBL and that was global. Was and is brilliant, just kids came along.

Because I live in the UK and wouldn't be able to get to an overseas one.

I'm confused about the poll; are we voting for "Yes, there is a UK-based Dakka-run tournament."? Or "Yes, I would like to see a UK-based Dakka-run Tournament."?

Anywho, I am vary wary of travelling large distances, and I dislike even going into Manchester on my own, so hauling a large silver case around with me across half of the UK is out of the question; if there are any tournaments planned up North then i'd be happy to attend (you know, provided i'm not on the 'Barred for Life' list)

Count me in if there's one in kent / london, especially that one in canterbury - platinum devil

I am hoping that Plat Devil goes ahead again....the fact that it is five minutes away from me is also awesome lol

where is it normally held? i could do with the chance to blow off some steam on a weekend for a tournament. but my school has a pretty tight lockdown on where we can go in the city, damn boarding schools

I believe from the previous tournaments Kilkrazy it's one each between me and you......hopefully we will get a decider in at ome point lol....

I'm hoping for a return of the Silver Sorcerer, possibly at Maelstrom's store so we can play some other games as well - would be interested in getting some Infinity games in.

Also good that it is not right at one end of the country, but somewhat in the middle.

Yes. In one battle my Tyranids were hiding in a trench system and in the second there were all these ruined towers and it ended with my Mawloc wandering around out of Synapse.

Great games.

I seemed to remember getting severely beaten in my first one mate. Maybe catch you at Salute I hope...I enjoyed it last time.

Lets hope there will be another PD or other event soon

I have a weekend in early September where I could possibly arrange a Dakka-user 40k tournament in Bristol... what's the turnout like?

Bristol is within easy strike range for me, but this much time away it's hard to make a firm commitment.

I'm going to be moving house again this summer, with consequent disruption to the wargaming setup.

It also depends on when my daughter starts school, etc.

I'd love to be able to go bristol but i'm moving to the opposite end of the country soon and will be short of cash for quite a while so cross-country like that might not be possible.

I'd love to have a Dakka tournament but as is probably the same for most people, time/distance etc would have to be a consideration.

The space we use is at a hotel with a decent room rate if that's any help. We can provide all boards, terrain etc. - the offer is there if the interest is
