These were all taken with my phone camera. Some came out good, others... not so well. I'll try to get better images in the meantime. I have since also finished putting the crosses on each shoulder pad, so those will also be updated. The only, *only* model not painted is the High Marshall himself, Helbrecht. He must glow and be a centerpeice for the army. I am afraid D: Comments highly welcome, crits highly welcome.

Rather then priming the marines black and highlighting, I actually primed them grey, and gave them a heavy *heavy* wash of Badab Black. This ended up giving a..."dull shine" to the armor and little bits of texture. It also helped to bring out highlights. Robes and Banners were painted Graveyard Earth, then Bleached Bone, and then highlighted with Skull White. Anyway, here you go.

I think a freehand decal on the banner/cloth of the ven dread would make it even cooler. Maybe some script with a BT red cross? I'd say red/black for the design.

i like the guy with the axe about halfway through your post, but his bolt pistol could use a little detailing.

Theyre great, especially Helbrect . But I really like the dreadnaught, but I would recomend putting something in the white knee pad areas

Very nice looking BT forces. That is the exact same way I switched over to for painting my Black Templars, it creates a nice modulation of shades of grey vs. just hard edge lines. I can also appreciate why Helbrecht is still unpainted, he's kind of an intimidating model to paint. I just recently stripped mine and repainted him using my airbrush. Hope you dont mind me sharing:



I recently learned a new trick for scribing text onto my BTs. I use a Speedball Crow Quill Dip pen and a bottle of Daler Rowny white or red ink to inscribe text onto the armor and seals. I find i can get much better looking text than when using a micro pen. And the white ink against the black armor really pops. Its also great for freehanding templar crosses and symbols.

Thanks all for the words of encouragement. For the banners and stuff, I actually have been using Micron Pigma pens for the writing. It's small enough and goes on ridiculously easy.
