So a tourney is coming up and I have no idea what I'm going to be up against. This is a GENERAL Necron list striving for the goal to do well against the majority of armies.

So in this list the overlord will be with the Immortals and the lords will be with the pyrrhian eternals and warriors.
My plan is to be extremely aggressive with the exception of the destroyers who will be in cover shooting from afar
I appreciate any and all opinions/suggestions and getting the models i will need is not an issue (cause sometimes people make suggestions based on the models the person has).

Just so you know, the FAQ stated that Anrakyr can't use his Mind in the Machine ability while on a CCB. That might change things around for you, depending.
Also, an opinionated suggestion, but perhaps you should make more use of the Crypteks and their special abilities. Eldritch lances are good to give your troop choices anti-tank, and Tremor Staves are great for slowing your enemies down. Also, you will want to take a Phaeron for a squad of at least 15-20 warriors.
For now, though, use this list, see how it works out, then start tweaking it.

The warrior squad is at the absolute rock bottom of your opponent's shooting priority so you can expect them to take no loses until everything else is dead or you get them into close combat. With that in mind, reduce them to size 10 to just act as ablative wounds on the lord's scythe and drop that lord's res orb.
Now with the spare 90 pts you can add mind shackle scarabs onto the lords and phaeron and then a weave for your phaeron. As an independent character he will almost certainly get focused on in close combat to rob you of your scythe hits and possibly following a failed rp roll your mind shackles and res orb go too, so a weave can really help him stick around. Plus you can suck up the occasional krak missile for your immortals. With the last 30pts add a scarab base to each swarm and presto, you're looking lean and mean.

I thought the units inside an open-topped vehicle have line of sight drawn from the hull of the vehicle?
Where did you see this FAQ?
Can you link it so I can see why this is true?

Afraid it's true, google 'necron faq' it's the first result. You can still do something like sweep move, get out, mc a different tank to shoot and kill a third tank then assault into the tank you just mced to kill it, but that would be a lucky bit of positioning/rolling. CCBs are still a more reliable way to get Anrakyr in close enough to use mind in the machine at all, veiling him tends to get him murdered and people have learned not to put tanks anywhere near him if he's just foot slogging.
In regards to KP games, even then it's
anrakyr>heavy destroyers>deathmarks>scarabs>warriors>immortals
10 isn't a small amount of warriors, think of it as an 11 wound lord that's scoring and immune to ID. For your forward moving aggressive plan you only lose 4 gauss flayers on the move which isn't much, but you gain a bevy of survivabilty wargear and a little more scarab redundancy.
The real argument in favor of 14 warriors is you can split 5 off into a grot squad to squat an objective while still moving forward with 9+lord but then you still shouldn't be taking a res orb for 9 warriors over 30pts of mind shackles or scarab bases. While even more susceptible to giving up KPs, if you roll an objective based game you'll need to hold a warscythe back capping and you really don't want to do that.
Necrons are probably one of the hardest armies to pick kill points off of anyway and your list is centered around 2 fat res orbed immortal bricks, compared to the usual msu/transport spam armies you already have an advantage in most KP games.

After much thought about your suggestions i have decided to change the list, taking out a Lord and the Deathmarks and I have added 2 Crypteks, 1 warrior, and have given the overlord a 2+ armor save and have also given he and the remaining lord mind shackle scarabs.

I honestly didn't understand the FAQ myself and we don't follow that ruling at our store currently. Anrakyer should be able to draw line of sight out the vehicle so I never saw the issue.

You can only have 2 Heavy Gauss Cannons per Destroyer unit in the new codex, but you can have up to 5 Destroyers now.

Incorrect, you upgrade up to 3 Necron Destroyers in a Destroy Squad to Heavy Destroyers
exchanging their Gauss Cannons for Heavy Gauss Cannons.

The warrior squad makes even less sense without the lord, it doesn't do anything for you moving forward and it's more bodies than you probably need squatting an objective.
You're also now mixing shooting roles with the crypteks in with the immortals. You want the lanceteks separate so they can pop transports then the immortals can lay into the guys that fall out, or so you don't waste a lance shot against the 6pt boyz the blasters and carbines are tearing up.
Drop 5 warriors, the gaze of flame, and sempiternal weave to take an annihilation barge, split the remaining 10 warriors into two 5 man squads with the lances attached. Those will be your backfield units to cap objectives and hunt big targets along with the heavy destroyers. The immortals and anni barge make the phalanx, a brick of anti meat shooting that murders anything within 24" of itself as it marches forward. The scarabs and anrakyr are your flankers and big vehicle problem solvers, they pick an unused side of the board and use the higher mobility to sweep around some terrain and threaten the enemy's backfield.

i cant take two squads of 5 warriors they die too fast. if it is control points then that is two troops choices that will be blown away, fast. 15 warriors assure the point will be held the whole game, meaning they will have to take out my immortals in order to win. As for the crypteks I agree, although i think putting them with the 1 warrior group would do just as well as splitting them into 2. the reason i took the 2 up armor for the overlord is so if they try to single him out in close combat it will be much harder to take him out. I don't think the annihilation barge would be more useful than a ball of warriors that can take out any infantry that come their way anyway. I'm just thinking that if i can lock down my own point and send all my forces at theirs then i will not have to split up the immortal groups to go and try to cap points. Imagine your 5 warrior squad dying at the first point while your army is across the battlefield, I wont be able to save it.

Your opponent needs a dedicated deepstriking or outflanking unit or a fast skimmer to get around your phalanx and get at your backfield and even then the heavy Ds are way way higher priority than the warriors. If something gets that deep into your territory with turns to spare 5 more warriors probably won't be the tie-breaker.
In the equally likely event that they don't have a unit dedicated to attacking your backfield, you have 130 points of wasted warriors standing around on the objective not doing anything where just 5 guys would do.
Splitting the unit also has the benefit of sometimes wasting the enemy's fire, like instead of taking 12 wounds you just lose the 6 man unit, and the only important guy in that squad is ever-living so he may stand back up still a scoring single model unit with a lance, no chance of a failed moral test or nothing so as far as your overall game plan would be concerned you didn't lose anything. You can stand both squads on the objective, splitting just lets them shoot different things and saves half the unit from overwhelming firepower at the potential cost of a kill point.
I'm all for keeping your res orb alive longer It's just that when I dropped the gaze and 5 warriors there isn't much to add for 75points while for another 15 points by dropping weave you pick up a barge which is a super solid all purpose weapon platform. Weave was just the least helpful of the olords upgrades since it's mostly for close combat as you said but there's almost always a couple power weapon hits in there which doesn't care if you have a better save so the weave sometimes doesn't get used.

That made a lot of sense to lol. So you are saying break the warrior squads into two groups of five and keep them together? I was just thinking in a kill points game that they would try to go straight for them in order to get 2 free kill points. Automatically Appended Next Post: also if the cryptek stands back up do they get the kill point for the warriors?

Keep the units together if your opponent has something that can threaten your home objective. If his list doesn't include anything like that you're free to put one of the units in better cover in another part of your backfield or march them up a step behind the phalanx to get on a central objective or get into good cover with clear los to the enemies backfield, maybe get some use out of those gauss flayers.
In terms of kill points, yeah it's an overall risk splitting units like that. But on the bright side, msu warrior squads with a tek in them are only just above the immortal squads for target priority in kill point games and dead last in any other games.
Put yourself in your enemy's shoes; you have a leman russ battle tank. What do you shoot at? The heavy destroyers that can kill you? The scarabs that can kill you and are weak to blasts? Anrakyr who can control you then kill you if you don't stop his barge right now? Maybe even the relentless gauss immortals who are going to be in range to glance the bajeesus out of you next turn? The warriors at the other end of the board who only have 1 strength 8 shot that can only glance your front armor on a 6 seem like a pretty distant threat that you can clean up when and if you get by all that other stuff.
And yeah, attached court members are upgrade characters for the unit they attach to which means for all intents and purposes that cryptek is a 'unit of warriors', even by himself. No kill point until he fails his ever-living roll, he still counts as a scoring unit, and a ghost ark can target him to revive warriors.
