If a model with any of those two rules returns to play, yet was the only model involved in combat, does the enemy unit consolidate or does the returning Necron just pile back in?

i.e Cryptek vs Beastmasters, Cryptek dies and then gets back up after, do the Beastmasters consolidate as they won combat or does the Cryptek pile back in as was engaged in close combat?

You consolidate before the models are returned to play.

This is because consolidation takes place at the end of a combat, while RP and EL rolls take place at the end of the phase.
