I'm really torn. I currently have about 2000pts of Blood Angels. I love my Blood Angels dearly. Recently though I've felt the urge to go crazy and build an army that is Terminator-centric. I'm approaching this mostly from a modeling standpoint, rather than a tourney standpoint. Given those few facts, what would you, the awesomely bodacious Dakka community, suggest I do for rolling a terminator themed army?

My only thoughts right now... Blood Angels are nice because I can deep strike landraiders and use them as dedicated transports, freeing up heavy slots. Dark Angels are nice because I can take Terminators as troop choices... decisions decisions...

AIUI, it wouldn't really fit BA's. BA's tend to go for lots of fast assaulting jump troops/skimmers/etc. Maybe a squad of termies in a transport, but not as the main meat of the army.

So my vote is for DA.

I think that if you already have Blood Angels, you should stick with them. After all, you have feel no pain terminators on every squad, instead of just 1 squad like with deathwing.

Also, my Deathwing runs 26 models in terminator armor foot slogging. A BA force running 2 units of 10 termies, each with a termie Priest and Chaplain/Libby, is looking at 24 models, but all 24 have furious charge, rerolls to hit (on charge or with psychic power) and feel no pain. You pay about the same as well--its not like Deathwing is cheap.

Think a BA termie army could be great. Wouldn't go DA because who knows what the new codex will do!

If DA don't have Deathwing in their new codex it isn't a DA codex...

This is sort of inline with my thinking. If I were to buy Deathwing Terminators, at $15 for a single model, just... ouch. Blood Angel Terminators are fantastic units. I know Blood Angels are supposed to be a speedy army, but, a few squads of Terminators with Land Raiders for transports is not to be trifled with

There's also the added perk that you don't really see anybody do Terminator-themed Blood Angel armies. It would be fun to model and showcase over in P&M Blogs!

Unfortunately in the grand scheme of things I am still a 40K noob, so I do not know such things. I haven't done much keeping up with the hobby over the last decade or so, the models I have I've had since 2003, though I did buy two packs of Sanguinary Guard and a pack of the new Death Company models. I was originally going to go for a Descent of Angels army because I think an all-Sanguinary Guard army would be beast, but, Terminators are just too cool. Now that I'm beginning to settle into a career, I find myself needing to engage in the hobby aspect of my life some more, and I really want 40K to fill that void. It's fun and itches my creative sense.

You take Logan Grimnar, they're troops. They are the most customizable terminators to date, and they're also pretty damned powerful. Arjac Rockfist can work, and so can Njall.

Basically, you can make an all Terminator Army while getting awesome special rules and not using the DA Codex!

Why don't you just make it BA termies since you have a BA army? Its not going to be incredibly effective of a list, but it will definitely be unique!
