Hey,

I've been using Testor's Dullcoat and have been very happy with the results on my BA assault marines so far. My issue arose when I started using the Vallejo Liquid Gold (VLG) line of paints. The Dullcoat appears to give the VLG parts of the mini an extreme matte finish and really takes away the appearance of actual metal that the paint provides. My biggest concern is when I start my Sanguinary Guard as opposed to mini's with the occasional metal accessory. Can anyone suggest a specific brand of sealer/varnish that wouldn't effect the VLG in such a way?

Thanks.

Spray on varnish does bad things to my shiny metallics too. I think all the spray on varnishes do it.
I have been brushing ard coat onto my shiny bits before hitting it with dullcoat.

I brush a glossy varnish or Future onto the metal parts after the matte varnish.
