Hello there, Dakka! I'm new... hence the Introductions board...

I just recently started playing, and I'm diving in face first into the Dark Eldar (that sounds very pointy and like a terrible idea in practice...). I'm loving it so far, and doing my best to learn and keep up! Hopefully I'll be able to learn something here and surprise the folks I play with... Though likely not, since I game with my boyfriend, and I joined up because I've been lurking on his threads for a while now and figured I should probably register and do something less creepy than just stalk his threads!

I come from a tabletop RPG background, mostly D&D and other d20 systems, though I do have a bit of MMORPGs and LARP under my belt. I'm a big fan of White Wolf games (old VtM and Wraith mostly, I'm not a fan of the newer editions they have put out) though my heart will always be with D&D. If you take it a step even further back, I started gaming via telnet and ShadowMUD back in the great great long ago... Text-based RPGs were pretty fabulous...

I'm kind of a die-hard brony, and my major hobby has been customizing ponies on commission basis for a while, but I've started learning how to paint models - and hopefully I'll get better at that soon too! Detail work on dark eldar is vastly different from slapping a cutie mark on a pony, so I've got quite a way to go in the skill department, but it's super relaxing and I'm enjoying it for now.

Well... I guess that's it? Hopefully I won't fall back into lurking, and hope to see y'all around the boards!

Ta!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Hi and welcome to Dakka!

Astra Militarum
Iron Warriors Army: Enyo Company
Enyo (Greek: Ενυώ, English translation: "warlike" in Greek mythology; Roman: Bellona), was an ancient goddess of war, acting as a counterpart and companion to the war god Ares. She is also identified as his sister, and daughter of Zeus and Hera in a role closely resembling that of Eris; with Homer in particular representing the two as the same goddess. As goddess of war, Enyo is responsible for orchestrating the destruction of cities

Thanks again

Where would be the best place to post my army list and get some advice on how best to utilize them?

Edit: nevermind, silly me. I found the Army List board!

Welcome to the site. Dark Eldar are a fantastic choice, one of the more attractive armies to play and you'll learn to use your finesse instead of relying on a high armor save to stay alive.

And they have wytches. Man I <3 wytches.
