I dont know exactly when the new paints have been released but I just want to know if GW made new counterparts for the old paints. I use a disgusting amount of codex grey and fortress gray and i just looked on the GW website and there's like 400 shades of every color. Do i still have the option of using like 2 paints that i can mix to get all the colors i want or do i just have to buy all 400 shades of grey and red to get the same result as if i were to just use like the 3 shades of red and 3 shades of grey. I paint Tau btw check out my small gallery if you want to see my Tau!

First, you don't have to buy GW paints. Second, you don't have to buy every color. Mixing is your friend. Use it as much or as little as you like. And from what I've heard, not all paints have a counterpart, and the ones that do don't always have an exact match. So take this in any way you want.

New GW paints come out on Saturday, April 7th. Why can't you make a switch? Other paint ranges offer some different colors, most often more paint for less money too. Vallejo Game Color has GW equivalents (there is a list on dakka somewhere) and you just buy the replacement color when you run low.

And some, I assume, are good people."

I'll look into it. The only problem i can imagine is that other paints may be initially cheaper but if i can't find a store that sells them i'll have to pay shipping.
