Hey guys, just playing a buddies Beastmen for some practice for the next tournament we're going to.

Now I've only ever played his Beastmen once (and that was the first time I eve played Beastmen at all.), and that was at 1200 points. So what can I suspect from a 2400 points list and what should I do with my units? Now my army consists of two units of thirty GW warriors (FC), twenty nine hammerers, 16 Rangers, two Grudge Throwers all kitted out for SUPER DAMAGE! BSB with 1+ Rerollable save, cannon, organ gun, Runelord (No anvil) Dragon slayer, Master Engineer

Any help would be great guys, cheers.

Banished, from my own homeland. And now you dare enter my realm?... you are not prepared.

2500 Beast list you should expect +3 static power dice. Also a combat horde that you really do not want to go head to head with.

I am a competitive beastmen player and something people always do against me is ignore my characters. Sure the BSB has a 2+6++ but if he dies the entire unit will fade fast. Kill out Characters who lead from the front and go from there. Also miner units help against the herdstone.

Now take this information and run for I have betrayed my bestial cousins!

If you're going arty-spam, you have to stay back as far as possible, especially considering Beastmen are pretty fast in movement. If you want to go full defensive, keep your units back too, but just far up enough to intercept any opponents trying to get to your WMs.

WM target priority isn't always an easy thing to determine, as opponent army and deployment can really make a huge difference, but by my own personal rule of thumb is to kill any special characters (specifically wizards, even though I stack all the anti-magic runes on Runelord) and any potential WM killers. The thing is, even w/ a Master Engineer and all the re-roll runes possible, Dwarfs (or at least I) live and die by the WM dice rolls. I've rolled enough misfires, explosions, and 1's to wound a character/multiple wound models to give me nightmares.

In fact, just today I played 2 matches and even when my WMs performed excellently, they still came up short in the clutch and rolled 1's to kill about 400 VPs in turn 6. It was against Ogres of course (as we just talked about them, Johnny lol).

You only have two war machines unless I overlooked something, I'm a tourney beasts player and would love to play your list, scouting harpies will mean your machines have one turn of shooting leaving the gor block with bsb, bestigors and ghorgons free to ruin your day, try to beef up your magic defense as johnny alluded too shard of the herdstone is nice for the extra power dice.

I don't fell well after saying this

I have four warmachines, two Grudge Throwers, a cannon, and an organ gun. The number one rule with my list is that I would deploy in such a way that my Grudge Throwers would be behinds units and since the tournament scene here works on "True line of sight" I can still wreck house on big blocks quite easily.

Johnny said it best. Kill the Shaman and BSB wargor. It won't hit like a semi-truck when the inevitable horde of Gors/Bestigor hit your warriors.

Johnny nailed it like always. Kill the BSB and beastmen go from almost guaranteeing Primal Fury to making it very possible to fail it, not to mention knocking that big horde of gor to S3, so they are needing 5s to wound your T4 dwarfs and allows you a 5+ armor save. Miners might be good to deal with the herdstone. Beastmen require magic support so carry some spellbreaking runes, you can take up to 3 and 3 of it's expensive cousin I can't remember the name of that has a chance the spell can be forgotten. Runelord and Runesmith with balance might be helpful however on average the beasts will roll a 7 for winds, get an extra +2-3 from the stone and channel an extra between the 3-4 wizards (GBS not being near the stone) for a total of 10-12 dice, if you end up with 4 or 5 and an extra 3 from a RL+RS for 7-8 he will still be casting most of his spells with the level 4 with the +4 to cast to your +2, it's best to just spellbreak until you can mop up those shaman around the herdstone with the miners and level the playing field.

If you bring Organ Guns, target the bestigor, cannons target the monsters, razorgor and even the single shaman around the herdstone, Grudgethrowers are great I would just add 1-2 runes of penetrating to deal with that T4.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
