I havent seen anything about it, so I'll ask. Can a BA Assault squad sgt take a lc and ss ? "The sergeant can replace his boltpistol/chainsword with ; pp, ip, pw, lc for 15pts -ss 20 pts.
My thoughts are that he replaces his chain sword with lc and pistol with the ss. I just want to make sure it can be done before I go making a list and people get all butt hurt.

Yes he can.
I won't go into if that's tactically sound or not, but it's perfectly allowed.

why would it not work well ?
If i run a chap with the squad they get to reroll to hit on the charge and then my sgt gets to reroll to wound, and you get a inv save to go along with it. I usually just run a regular pw but Ive recently been seeing alot of nids so those saves come in handy.

I didn't say it wouldn't work well, just that I wouldn't go into it's tactical viability.
Personally I think 20pts is alot to protect a sergeant with a single wound. You do gain the re-roll to wound, but also loose an attack compared to PW/ BP. There are pros and cons. I've no idea what the rest of your army or play style is like, so I avoid getting into it.

I agree with grendel, I ran some storm sheilds in my BA army and they were a waste on anything other then multiwound characters. Even then I'd rather take a 4++ and max out my attacks.
For less points you could make use of the infernus pistol option for those pesky grey knights or the odd vehicle.

As a point I don't think SS are wasted on TH/ SS Terminators and they are only 1 wound

My brother runs five veteran vanguards with jetpacks, two of which have lc and ss, the rest have twin lc.
He also groups them up with Kaayvan Shrike and sends them hunting from infiltrate.

at 325 points before Shrike.
Or in other words, the same cost a Terminator Assault squad with a Librarian in Terminator armor for GOI goodness.

BA don't get Shrike either. I was replying to kilgan04, not the OP.
