Hello All!

Here are pics from a commission work from last year.

A Dark Angel Captain of the 6th Company.

It is modeled and painted as requested. The model was to look like he had just jumped down onto the concrete, cracking it where he landed after defeating an Ork.

I hope you like it.

Thanks
D.

Nice clean paint job. Great looking colors. Great stance of the model. I think its safe to say that this model is great. I don't much care for the ork head. But hey personal opinion. Other than that i love this model. Good job.

Thanks,

Primered black, base coated with Vallejo Hull Red, layered with GW Blood Red. Highlighted with various shades of orange and use Devlan mud and Gyphonne sepia washes to tone down and darken recessed areas.

Thanks,

The model's feet are recessed in the base. The look was to be that the Captain jumped down from a high place unto the concrete. His weight cracked the concrete and pressed it down. Comic book style.

The entire model was spray primered black. I rarely use any other color to prime a model with.

Very interesting. I've been avoiding black for this reason and that but your work awesome and vibrant. I'll stop being afraid of it and give it a shot. Thanks.

Don't be afraid to try different colors or techniques. If you mess up or don't like it, you can always strip it and try again. That's the great thing about painting models.

A key to painting over black primer is layers. I paint up from the dark to light.
