It's small scale but does prove a point

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

Haha. I stopped reading after that.

I'd believe it though. Mac owners are (from what I can tell) incredibly naive and oblivious to the obvious dangers of the internet. Seems to be a pervading attitude of "oh? Viruses? Nah, I don't have to worry about that"

Maybe someone realised they've been looking at this wrong, why fight with all the other scammers trying to fight over the 80%

Direct your aim at the 20% and have it all.

Ah, so Apples own cunning plan could lead to its downfall. Well, an increase in viruses anyways.

I totally disagree. QuickTime is worse than iTunes.

You may have a point -- but the tie-in with Acrobat might give iTunes the edge.

Can you get them separate now?

Used to be, that quicktime would ONLY come with iTUnEs (I swear Apple marketing people have no idea about how to capitalise words properly - still, they're marketing people. That they can read is probably a miracle).

"Apple could not provide a statement at this time."

why? Because all their computers were hacked.

@lonelictor: It had a great deal to do with the fact that less people use them so it's not worth the time to bother creating a virus for it.

Now see, Id look at it like, most PC users do not have enough money worth the risk. However, damn near EVERY Mac user obviously has extra spending cash, to justify the mark up in price. Not to mention the EASE of stealing their money with a virus of some kind. Too bad I didnt go to college for computers, other wise Id be writing that little nasty right now

I think it got started with a bit of fact and a lot of supposition*. Since 2002 at least, OSX has been a UNIX based OS and the theory was that since no-one could be bothered to write a virus for Unix, then anti-virus was unnecessary (on the grounds that it wasn't worth the time it took to write one).

Times change, and in the computer industry, 5 years is a lifetime.

*Based on what my mate, an archivist told me. He knows more about unix (and understands it) more than I do and his explanation included many details that escaped me.
