Decided to give this game a shot with the release of V3, so here is a list I made to use as a purchase template! This list was construced using the Force List book.

Rifle Company HQ - 40
2x Bazooka

Rifle Platoon - 155
1x Bazooka Team

Rifle Platoon - 155
1x Bazooka Team

Weapons Platoon - 120
4x LMG
3x 60mm

Mortar Platoon - 85
4x 81mm

Anti-tank Platoon - 100
3x M1 57mm
2x Bazooka Team

Tank Platoon - 205
3x M1A1 Sherman

Field Artillery Battery - 140
4x 105mm

Opinions? Tips? Tactics for this type of army?

Edit: Added Bazooka Teams

Looks plenty fighty for a 1,000 pt. list. Only thing that I'd worry about is having such a small tank platoon. I realize mobility is important but I think those 3 Shermans are going to get chewed up rather quickly against an armored force.

I'm not sure I'd take the weapons platoon, you already have 2 units (the 81's and 105's) that can drop smoke and after the v3 errata armory comes out (supposedly in a few weeks) root out dug in infantry with direct fire and I'm still not convinced on the usefulness of LMG's (though YMMV, I know plenty of people who swear by them).

So with the new combat attachment rules, if I took an 81mm mortart platoon with 6 mortars and three bazookas, could I just combat attach the bazookas and keep the mortars as their own platoon?

Back in the English morass

If the mortars are specifically noted as being able to make combat attachments that is correct. You can attach up to half of the platoon to any single platoon although you could attach the entire platoon if you so wished.

It looks a pretty decent list for 1000 points. I wouldn't worry that much about the Shermans being 3 strong, its main drawback is that they are a bit more brittle but they should be acting in a support role anyway so its not that much of a drama.

The weapon platoon is historical but unfortunately doesn't work well in FoW due to the relative weakness of MGs. Its not a hindrance as such but those 120 points could be better spent elsewhere, some recce perhaps?

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

I could trade the Weapons Platoon for a HMG platoon to combat attach. From my understanding HMG's are still decent. That should give me points for an extra bazooka.
