This is just a general question, as the book isn't extremely clear on it. Let's say that you have a squadron of 3 Piranhas, and in 1 shooting phase the enemy landed 3 immobilization's, one on each Piranha. Would all 3 of them blow up since they are in a squadron? Would they all become immobilized and none would blow up as the whole point of the rule where they get wrecked is now gone (since none can move)? Is this just an unfortunate outcome because of game rules if those aren't the case?

They would all blow up, as all of them were subject to squadron rules when they were hit.

All shooting from the unit is considered to be simultaneous.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Makes sense, just seems really cheesy that it's what would happen and not even one would be left alive. I guess it's just a fluff vs RAW thing, but it's stupid that they did not make an exception to the WHOLE squadron just becoming immoblized. Oh well thank you.

Unless all three immobilised results came from the same source 2/3 would be destroyed and third would be immobilised.

Once one of the vehicles is by themselves the revert to standard vehicle rules.

A single phase doesn't matter, if a unit opens fire and the vehicle is on its own it's no longer in a squadron.

You check to see how many are in the squadron each time they are targeted. If there are three vehicles, during the entire resolution of a single unit firing at them, they are treated as such.

If this leaves one remaining, and ANOTHER unit targets them, it will no longer be a squadron.

Thanks for the further clarification.

I preferred the 4th ed rules where an immobilized squadron vee just sits there, and is only abandoned and destroyed if the rest of the squadron chooses to move out of coherency with it.
