Thank you for welcoming me.

I am 26 years of age and grew with technology and gaming from the start. I enjoy all genres of gaming (strategy, rpg, etc), however my experience has been limited to video (pc, ps3, snes, etc). Within the past 2 years I played several games of Dungeons and Dragons with a friend or two locally; we were using Gametable software and remotely connecting with another friend so he could play with us. Although I enjoyed some of the lore and role-playing aspects, I did not feel immersed and discontinued playing. A cousin whom I speak with very frequently via phone and Skype instantly attracted me to Warhammer 40k by telling me some general lore about the Emperor and Space Marines, and some Eldar and Dark Eldar. I decided to buy the Eldar Codex (knowing my cousin has a rulebook), to me, for ~$35 I would enjoy reading it even if I did not play.
I am not sure how the Dakka Dakka community feels about Vassal 40k or if I can even mention that here. However, I am using Vassal 40k to play against my cousin to learn more about playing and determine if I would like to make an investment into Warhammer 40k. I am interested in playing and collecting/painting Eldar.
I wanted to become a Dakka Dakka member after much Google-Fu into Warhammer 40k universe and continually seeing relevant, informative articles/posts from this site and its members. Thanks for being awesome!

Now, I desire for Dakka Dakka to dissect my army...

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
