This would be for a competitive playgroup, but I still want to keep the game fun/fluffy/interesting. Which list do you think is more powerful? Which list would be more "fun" (objective, I know)? Any suggestions on either list would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

List A:

Lords (310)
Master Necromancer
- Master of the Dead
- Level 4 Wizard
- Black Periapt
- The Cursed Book

Heroes (440)
5 Cairn Wraiths

Necromancer
- Level 2 Wizard
- Rod of Flaming Death

Core (500)
33 Skeletons
- Musician
- Standard Bearer
- The Screaming Banner

36 Skeletons
- Full Command

5 Dire Wolves

5 Dire Wolves

Special (321)
3 Vargheists

3 Vargheists

Spirit Host

Rare (420)
Black Coach

Terrorgheist

I believe everything there comes to 1991 points. The 5 Cairn Wraiths will all join the smaller unit of Skeletons, making the unit invulnerable to non-magical melee attacks. The level 4 wizard will hide behind them. Small units of Vargheists for picking on weak infantry, warmachines, and anything else they can handle. A lone Spirit Host for tying up monsters and warmachines. The Terrorgheist because I love the model. And the Black Coach because it has awesome rules

List B:

Lords (430)
Vampire Lord
- Barded Nightmare
- Heavy Armor
- Enchanted Shield
- Fencer's Blades
- The Other Trickster's Shard
- Red Fury
- Quickblood

Heroes (360)
Necromancer
- Level 2 Wizard
- Rod of Flaming Death

Necromancer
- Level 2 Wizard
- Dispel Scroll

Tomb Banshee

Core (525)
60 Skeleton Warriors
- Full Command
- The Screaming Banner

30 Zombies

5 Dire Wolves

5 Dire Wolves

Special (391)
6 Vargheists
- Vargoyle

Corpse Cart
- Balefire

Rare (285)
5 Blood Knights
- Musician
- Standard Bearer
- Banner of Swiftness

Again, I think that comes to 1991...weird. Anyway, the Vampire Lord joins the Blood Knights and kills anything. The Vargheists tag along and kill everything else. The Dispel Scroll Necromancer joins the Zombies and the other joins the Skeleton horde. This list is a lot more aggressive and has fewer tricks...but that might be a good thing.

So once again, which list is more powerful? Which do you think is more fun/interesting? And general suggestions on either would be awesome. Thanks!

No, both lists are legal.

Personally, I like list B more. But that's because I run a mounted vamp lord myself.
I'd recommend list A though, with a tweaking. 5 Cairn Wraiths are very, very vulnerable. As soon they face an opponent with magical attacks, they'll die a swift death... And that's a lot of down the trash. It's a little too many eggs in a basket for my taste. Also, I've heard that the Black Coach isn't too awesome these days, though I haven't tried it myself.
Other than that, the improved magic should be great fun.
