Hey all, hope everybody is doing well!.
I recently picked up my
40K models, after spending a few weeks thinking "i need a hobby damnit!".
Realising I still held my models in my lower drawer i plucked them out.
In a nutshell :
space wolves (old metal ones) -
I bought all the special characters back then.
the heavy weapons team and terminators.
I bought the plastic termies for space wolves when they were first release(when was that?) that was the last time i was into the hobby.
Chaos space marines -
The old metal terminator with autocannon.
abaddon the dispoiler (lost his bloody sword after painting it with a friend giving me pointers, it looked great!, sad day).
converted space marines devestator squad to
CSM heavy weapons squad.
Chaos terminator lord (the newish plastic one!).
Anyway, I'm posting cause i'm more into conversions and collecting, had my fair share of games back when i was a teen with friends.
I'm up for any
40K games, if anybody is in the epsom/sutton/surrey area(?).
For some reason, I've fallen in love with orks as of late.
I have 30+ models left over from a previous time when i got back into
GW with buying the gorkamorka game.
Hell, I even have an old adeptus titanicus power fist/arm that i've painted and i knew, even back then that it would suit an ork, nothing else!.
I tend to sway from painting cause I am the sort who paints slowly and i'm a bit of a perfectionist, which is NOT a good combo.
Now that i'm 28, I have the patience (yeah, it's taken that long!).
I've scoured through these forums for threads, Gorkamorka orks are ok for a
40K army, great!.
Though i will be adding shoulder armour and generally beefing them up a bit.
Oh and in case ya wondering, the space wolves and
CSMs arent painted at all.
(for games i'd just
tac them together and we'd play on!).
With the 13th chapter being present as of late, i'm gonna throw all the bits into a bucket and that's my 13th legion
plus some green stuff, should come out good.
And why wouldnt they have fenris wolves with them ?!.
To think, that if you go into the warp, what, you're gonna eat the floral in THAT world?!.
I doubt it, you'll take a massive pack of wolves to hunt and help, aswell as to eat.
EDIT : Sorry, after rambling on, which i tend to do with introducing myself to a flagship of a community.
I need help with the orks army i'd love to start.
Can they get by on foot?.
Do i really need trukks etc?.
which is what
id go as far as getting to be honest.
I'm fine with getting the dreadnought style units too.
I just dont want to have to spend half my points on tanks/salvaged speeders/bikes etc.
i'm looking at about 1K-1.5k army list.
Clost combat is a must!.
Which is why i'd probably make them goff orks, i love the history of what ive read considering them.
Guess, that's the next step, grabbing the codex....
