So five years ago (almost to this day) a few friends of mine (including seldom-seen Dakka user Iboshi2) got together for a battle. The details of this fight are long, long gone, and what follows are a bunch of images from when we all first started with this silly game about spacemen. I was leading the Dark Angels with captain Leonidas while Iboshi2 led his Imperial Guard versus one or two Eldar players. The paintjobs are iffy, the rules were probably very poorly understood, the photography is blown out, and the tactics were sure to be pretty iffy. I figured some folks might find some of these old pictures entertaining and it sends me on a bit of a nostalgia trip! The photos are dated from almost five years ago today, so forgive some of the more humble qualities you see here!

Captain Leonidas:

Foul xenos!

The Imperial line:

Skulking through the ruins:

Forces clash in the middle:

Assault!

The Dark Angels join the fray:

As I recall, the Imperials won the day, but unfortunately the specifics have been lost in time. I hope you enjoyed this humble report from days of yore!
