I was wondering if anyone had made any new gametypes for 5th edition? The vanilla ones seem rather bare-bones.

I was thinking of converting a few TF2 ones, namely Capture the Flag, Control Points & Payload/Payload Race. Respawns represented as dead units coming back after a couple of turns.

What do you think? Any links to similar ideas?

I have seen a few game types on Dakka like "Last stand" http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/The_Last_Stand_%2840k_Scenario_Rules%29

or zombie survival http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/239408.page

an theres always planet strike and cites of death.

I have put a lot of thought into Kill Team and alternate missions for Kill Team, which tries to be a bit more narative. IE, Hunt the Big One, where your opponent gets 1 heavy support unit in addition to their kill team, and your kill team wins if they kill the heavy before breaking.

Now, were you thinking of playing a standard game with the objectives being different? Or were you thinking of having a coop 40k game with about 8 players ala team fortress?

That's a good idea.

I was thinking standard.

For kill-team gametypes with more in-depth, check out the ones around 3rd-edition for fun with Klaxon-counters, Las-traps, sentries, brute squads, and the like that make Kill-team what it was meant to be (A squad infiltrating and thwarting the enemy brute-boss's plans via saboteur, assassination, etc)
