Hi all,
I'm thinking of going back to fantasy after a trip into the 40K universe.
I wanted to know can I use the Tamurkhan: Throne of Chaos rules in normal games or are they like Imperial armour, where I need the opponents permission.
Thanks in advance

There will be people giving responses like.

"why does it matter, you need opponent's permission to play a game anyways"

BUT I know that is irrelevant to your question, which I would say Im sorry I dont know either xD

Yes you will need permission as FW rules are rarely similar to the books

... what? FW rules are always similar to what's in the books, as they have to use the same universal rules from the rulebook and whatever is unique to different armies.

They're different in that they're new units, but they're definitely designed around the basic rules to be similar to whatever is special about the race they belong to.

The main reason they're frwoned upon is because, like Imperial Armour, they have 'surprise' quality to them. If you don't own, say, Tarmurkhan: Throne of Chaos but do own the Warriors of Chaos army book so you know what WoC can do, and someone plonks down some Plague Toads, you're not going to have the foggiest idea what they can do.

The best thing to do is to prepare a list without whatever you want from Warhammer Forge in the event that someone just doesn't want to let you use their stuff. Also, be amiable when asked to see the rules in the book - and always have the particular Warhammer Forge book you're using on hand. It goes over a lot better if you tell people up front that you have Warhammer Forge stuff in your army, and even before they ask, hand them the book to let them see the rules.
