Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

Hi all, decided to start a new army this week, and as it coincided with new paints being released I got aload of new ones. I've made the paint scheme up completely and not looked at any how to guides, so would greatly appreciate all feedback! I want the army to be orange themed mainly, with vehicle having orange stripes and panels etc. the armour could possibly do with a brighter highlight... What do you think? If I do another highlight shall I do orange/yellow or orange/white?
Thanks for looking!
P.s it isn't quite finished, I'm aware the gems and trophies on his back are still black!

The orange looks great, the green on the blade looks a bit muffled though. Are those the new GW metallics too? I like the white on the helm... interested to see what he looks like based and completely finished!

The white is pallid wych flesh which covered amazingly, single coat and it covered the grey flawlessly, it's fairly thick and I didn't water it down... Will try the next one slightly watered down and see if it still covers well. They are the new metallics also, havnt got the technique down for them that we'll yet, as have only painted tyranids before.
The green looks better in the flesh, it's actually a dark green highlighted with a bright one, and the dark one doesn't show so well. I may give it a green wash and see it it comes together a bit better! Thanks for the replies!

Some games/lines/types of dioramas might use unpainted/flocked bases, and if that's the case it will undoubtedly still look neat and clean and finished and we'll be able to tell by context. But for most wargaming models a completed model means a completed and nice base too.
That said, you have some lovely effects there. Any thoughts on how the new paints differ from the old? (Can you take another picture under better lighting conditions?)

Great Dark Eldar model. Good to see the new paint doing a terrific job.
That said, I will never understand basing gaming models. It just looks so stupid when people play city based modeled on my grassy green field table.

Sorry for the wrong area posting, base is drying as we speak... Trying to decide on base colourings!
The new base paints are really good, they really do cover really well. Infact, they all paint really nicely and I've not had to do more than one layer of any colour. Unfortunately there is no dry orange so I'm using the base orange to dry and the highlight orange (jakero orange) to do the highlights. Do people think I should do a brighter edge?
