I saw a link to chapter house studios store onine and I was wondering If their stuff is any good. I really like the combi-plasma kits but Im worried about the gun handle thing. I also like many of the other things for it, including the heads and things. can you tell me if these are any good and show me how they would look if you would be so kind?

chapterhouse is really awesome stuff. I ordered the female heads from them and they work out well on GW models:

Personally Im not a fan, nothing personal against chapterhouse but excepting their stormraven upgrade all there stuff just seems really meh, and my friends have one or two pieces which while there is nothing wrong with them they are just not great.

Cast quality wise? The level of detail in their kits? Creativity? They make fairly decent kits, perhaps a little marine centric (well they are named Chapterhouse....), that are of the level you'd expect from an independant producer. They have a thread in the news and rumours section here that shows a lot of their products off, as are a few of their sculptors registered here if you want to look up wip shots. =P

I've gotten pre-heresy jump packs from them. Cheap and decent quality. Though, it took them about 2 weeks to ship.

I had the Tervigon conversion kit and used it to make a Tyrannofex.

The fit was not good and needed some green-stuffing. It didn't go together like an out of the box polystyrene kit.

I think that's perfectly acceptable for a third party after-market upgrade kit for experienced modellers. Especially on a complex organic form such as a Tyranid.

They make good stuff. I have a few of their new razorback turrets for my salamanders and just picked up some their new tau crisis suit heads. Top notch and quick shipping too. Best of luck!!

I've bought chapterhouse stuff before. I don't think that their older parts are that good, you can see that they are a bit clunky or massive looking, and some of the SM pauldrons don't fit perfectly, but I still highly reccomend them. I bought a pile of stuff of of them, and there was hardly any flash and no damage to any of the parts. Add to that their ridiculously wide range of pauldrons and other parts, at much lower prices.

Do bear in mind though, GW is having this ban-you-from-the-store-for-using-CHS-bits phase right now.

The policy that they've had at my outlet in regards to the use of third party parts is that if you don't explicitally go about saying what they are, nor substitute a good chunk of your army for other company's models, it allowed. This may just be the case in Scotland, but I think a degree of common sence might be available to the staffers in other countries too. =P

It was some work to make it fit, but, not a bad. Detail was good enough for me, and, I might order this again to make another hydra. Some guys I know have used the shoulder pads and they look good.

No, unfortunately a Thunderhawk is considerably larger than a Storm Rave, even one with the extension.
