A friend of mine is trying to figure out a way he can put together his blood angel army without giving into the standard mech build. He has decided he likes the Sanguinary priests, and wants an army with that type of theme. After talking with him for a bit, we came up with this list, however, as I really have very limited experience with blood angels, I wasn't able to look it up and down and see if there was anything wrong with it. So here I am, giving the list to you guys to help us out. He doesn't need to win every game, but he wants to at least be somewhat of a challenge, as he puts it
Thanks in advance for your help!

You will find it a lot easier without the dreads. The first will land without support and will die before the jump packers come in.

Maybe double dread drop pod, one librarian with lance in a drop pod to come later. Then a shooty dread to walk on from reserves. Then hide the spare drop pod first turn.

You can make a very effective jumper style BA list. Just use a core of lots of assault marines, a few priests, and a librarian or two with unleash rage and shield. 2-3 units of devestators with missile launchers can provide long range firepower.

There have been quite a few good lists posted recently that use zero mech.

You really need a little more scoring in this list. I would recommend dropping the drop pods from the list and changing one of the Thunder hammers to a power fist. This will net you 75pts which is enough to buy a 5 man scout squad. Their job is to camp on home objectives (if you can find 15pts more for camo cloaks it's even better, but not necessary.)

I run a small squad of scouts in many of my lists these days and they just plain win me games! Reserve them and then walk them on to hold an objective.

As far as the dreads go, they will now have to foot slog, but the Sanguinor and Sanguinary guard are all larger models than regular assault marines and with their large wing spans you can use them to give the dreads cover.

It looks like you are planning on deepstriking this army, but the truth is that in most games it is actually better to start everything on the board. In those instances where deepstriking is the better call, I would either reserve the dreads or hope there is terrain that you can hide them in till the deepstrikers show up.

Jumpers is not the most competitive thing out there, especially when you have 500pts tied up in two models, but it is fun and can win some games. If your friend is not stuck on the dreads I would really say drop them and either get some devs or more jump pack troops. If he really wants the dreads walk/run them. The pods just don't fit this style list.
