Somewhere in the dark...

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone has any tips for making a Farseer/Warlock jetbike conversion?

I wonder whether anyone knows of any models that exist in the GW range that are already in the sitting position that I could use? Then all I'd need to do is concentrate on the head. What I would prefer to do is avoid cutting the head off something but if I have to then I have to. I have plenty of spare Grey Knight halberds that I could use as singing spears so that shouldn't be a problem and I don't mind cutting the odd hand off a model here and there. Anyway, if anyone does know a good way to do it, please let me know to stop me from butchering something that I don't have to lol

There's not really anything readily available, not even with just a head swap, and it's something that's plagued Eldar fans for years.

To look like a proper Warlock or Farseer with the robes on, you pretty much have to sculpt the clothing.

With the new finecast box set of 'locks and seer, you might be able to more easily chop one up and fit it on the regular jetbike legs.

Chapterhouse Studios makes a Farseer-on-Jetbike conversion kit for a reasonable price:

It's kind of disappointing that the options are so limited but that Chapterhouse kit is pretty good, just not too sure whether it's worth it. Then again, it doesn't seem like it's going to be cheap converting one anyway.

I used the heavy weapon platform (bottom) and magnatized the figs feet. I can use it on the "bike" or base.

If you have to stick with GW parts then I suggest getting the HE Mage legs from the plastic kit (see here). They should fit quite snugly on a bike with a bit of modification and you'll be good to go.

I have the kit and can say that the farseer sculpt is beautiful and detailed. Worth it.

Wow those Chapter House Studio conversion kits look great! Didnt even know they existed haha.

@Kroothawk Whats the quality of the resin they use? like did you have to do lots of cleaning up/ green stuffing?

Also bitzbox is an awesome website i didnt know existed and i will consider that too as i dont have to buy 5 mage kits to get the legs now XD

Think i might buy a couple of those conversion kits though as i need them for a tournament in August i think, overall should fit into the 85% or whatever it is, gw models thing.

Thanks for posting this topic and the great answers! they helped me alot too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the Chapterhouse Kit Kroot. Think I will take the plunge and get one. As for those mage legs, I will probably invest in some when I get round to doing some warlocks on bikes. Thanks for the advice all round!
