Hi,
So, I am still really knew to the game and have recently refined my list for use in friendly and possibly semi-competitive play. My friend who i have been playing with usually uses chaos deamons but is going to switch to his de for our next game in a few days. I really want to lay some hurt down on him this time. First here is my list:

HQ
Vulkan 190
MotF 120 Conversion Beamer

Troops
Tactical Squad 1 210 5 extra SM, melta,Missile launcher,Combi Melta, Powerfist
Tactical Squad 2 210 5 extra SM, Melta,Missile Launcher,Combi Melta, Powerfist
Tactical Squad 3 205 5 extra SM, Flamer, Missile Launcher,Combi Melta, Powerfist

Elite
ICD 145 Melta, Heavy flamer
ICD 145 Melta, Heavy flamer
Terminators 440 Cyclone Missile launcher, Heavy Flamer, Chainfist

Fast Attack
Land Speeder x2 140 heavy flamer,Multi Melta

Heavy Support
Dread 125 Autocannon, Autocannon
Dread 125 Autocannon, Autocannon
Dreadnought 130 Heavy Flamer,Multi Melta, Extra Armor

Transports
razorback 80 Las/Plas, Dozer Blade
razorback 80 Las/Plas, Dozer Blade
Rhino 40 Dozer Blade
Droppop 35
Droppop 45 Locator Beacon
Droppop 35

Okay, he says his DE army is really raider heavy so I am really hoping i can get first turn. I plan on setting up a wall with my razorbacks and rhino with the riflemen up high along with the heavy halves of my two melta tac squads. I am going to try to use my first 2 pods to funnel as many raiders as possible into my "Kill Corridor" , after that the whole army shoots and chaos ensues. If i don't get first turn I might deploy the dreads on the table and use the pods to annoy him later unless i can use them to direct traffic or hide behind later. the land speeders will probably sweep in from the side and do as much damage as possible before they go down. what do ya think? can't do a whole lot of planning for anything after the first turn or 2 but what should i be looking out for and what other basic tactics work well against the Dark Eldar? Should i be getting more into their face or is hanging back and taking out the transports first a good plan? anything helps. Thanks.
P.S. not able to make any further changes to this list at this time but in the future i will add some more models. Just looking for advice on how to do the best with what i have right now. again. Thanks

The list looks pretty solid. Because eldar's main strength is their mobility, if you can deprive them of it by blasting their transports then the army takes a real hit. Instead of being fast and fragile, they're just fragile after that. So I would definitely go for the raiders first. I would try to get the dreadnoughts into close combat, because dark eldar can't really hurt them in assaults, so it's just a slow agonizing death for them. Even against your riflemen. I would definitely deep strike the land speeders if you have the second turn. Speeders are so fragile that if you don't get the first shot in with them, you might not get to use them at all. So it's worth the risk to deep strike them rather than just getting blasted without doing anything on the first turn.

I know you said you didn't want to change anything with the list, but I just thought I would mention that the heavy flamers are really limited against dark eldar in general, because their fleet special rule and open topped transports means they can close the distance faster than you can. This really limits your ability to get the flamer shots off on anything but a really mobile platform like a land speeder. I think that twin-linked multi-meltas and meltaguns are going to be alot more useful to you in this fight than the heavy flamers, especially on the terminators. A second cyclone missile launcher in that squad could make all the difference in the world.

Hope that helps. Goodluck.

I think you're all-set. You have longrange AT (conversion beamer, mortis dreads, MLs, and las/plas razorbacks.).If he goessecond he minght reserve everything, so your drop pods could end up working against you.
