Hoping for a little feed back on these guys. I am working on the pic quality and will post them soon. I don't have the greatest knowledge on the fluff so any comments would help.

Nice painting but Pre-Heresy Marines didn't have any access to the MKVII Power Armour.

The armor is wrong, But if you think about if they didn't join chaos it works. The purple looks good. Might do some good to wash it some. But its hard to tell what washes you have done and the true colors because of the photo. Other than that they look pretty good. If you need help with the fluff side of things check out, Warhammer40k.wiki.com They will have some good fluff. Enough to get this army completed. Can't wait to see more.

At the moment you have some very nicely painted purple marines. Where is the Legion symbol of the Emperor's Children? Their symbol is basically a bird's wing with a bird's foot at the bottom of it.

There are chapters of loyalists with the same paint scheme so you need to show who these guys are.

I like em. Don't Hawk Lords run the same colors? Would be great if you had access to some chapter specific shoulders, especially the officer ones from the pic above - they look really nice.

good job on the colors, but why the mark 7 armor? it's by no means preheresy, no offence it just bothers me when people say "this is preheresy" and then they put mark 7 on them

Liking the purple a lot, but as people have said, different armour and maybe a bit of conversion (A million internets if you make Pre-Heresy terminator armour!) would help.

Didn't know that a Techmarine could take a conversion beamer... Don't even know what it is...

No it's Master of the Forge technically a HQ choice, but he's just a bad ass Techmarine with some nice options. The Conversion Beamer is an absolute Nightmare and it seems that Forge World is championing it as of late on Contemptors and Predators.

Really nice! T'will say that they aren't strictly "pre-heresy" due to the newer mark of power armour that you've used.

Let's talk paint as I am currently throwing together ideas, schemes and techniques for pre-heresy Emperor's Children too. Have you washed and//or shaded the models? Highlights? What colours did you use and for what purpose?

Currently experimenting with black prime, hormagaunt purple foundation followed by my own mix of purple. Having some trouble shading the purple though [bitch of a colour!]

@BLAPBLAP, It is indeed a conversion beamer. Plasma canon with auto canon bit for extra dakka.
@mwnciboo Glad you saw my conversion as a conversion beamer. I really wish they made bits for all of there options.

@eirikr, Yup it is a bitch!! Took me about 2 months to get it right. The base is lich purple though hormagaunt works fine. I found that two coats of lich were necessary. Once the base has good coverage, heavy wash of black. I then drybrush with a very stiff brush warlock purple. Now this drybrush I really don't use dry paint , warlock is very thin to start with so a very wet drybrush works great. As warlock is so thin I make a glaze by watering it down to almost wash consistency. This wash is used to highlight and smooth over any brush strokes or drybrush clumps. This produces a finish that is almost iridescent and will change appearance under different lights. The eye lens are ultra marine blue with ice blue center highlight. Hawk turquoise provides wonderful contrast on any bit that needs to stand out. I really hope that this helps, please post some pics of your work as we are now BATTLE BROTHERS!!!

mark 4 armor can be done by shaving off the chest plate detail and green stuffing four sets of cables onto it, or use a bits site and buy either black templar or blood angels mark 4 maximus armor (though you get kinda up the creek with the legs but minor detail). as for the terminators, well just add in the shoulders and your set. for referance: if you like i could send some off to you depnding on how many you need

I have about 20 terminators.5 lighting claw,5 thunder hammer and 10 regular storm bolter power fist versions. I don't know if that makes any difference. If you have some I would be very interested in getting them. Please let me know.
