Hey all,

I'm looking for advice on my 1000 point Grey Knight list. I'm planning on taking it to Wargamescon's doubles tournament this year.

This past weekend, my teammate and I tied for first in a local tournament with the following:

Grey Knights
Crowe
6 Purifiers - 3 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
6 Purifiers - 3 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
6 Purifiers - 3 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Razorback with Psybolt Ammo & Searchlight
Total - 998

Dark Eldar
Haemonculus - Liquifier Gun
3 Wracks - Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
Ravager - 3 Dark Lances, Flickerfield
Ravager - 3 Dark Lances, Flickerfield
Ravager - 3 Dark Lances, Flickerfield
Total - 1000

In my initial list, I had 3x5 Purifiers and 2 Dreadnoughts. I made a last minute change before leaving the house that morning and it definitely paid off.

However, I think the list could be improved further. Ideally, I could do something like this:

Grey Knights
Crowe
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
Total - 910

As you can see, I have 90 points to spare.

I don't believe the Dreads are necessary in a 1k doubles list. The Razorback wasn't ideal either. I'm used to 2k where I leave a unit behind on a home objective. Wracks handle that just fine.

Suggestions?

Seems fairly solid. 90 points left is a tricky one, theres no real unit you could take. Perhaps throw in an inquisitor with rad/psycho grenades? Other than that just add a few more purifiers. Can't really think of anything else.

In MHO I think that you should use list 2 but dropping two pyscannons and 3 search lights for a standard rife dread. That would give your enemy's more to shoot at then just the paper planes on the battlefield.

I could combine two squads and used the points saved on a Rhino to purchase a DakkaDread.

That would work really well, I just hope you have enough scoring units. But i guess you are grey knights three scoring units is pretty good at 1K. Then again dark eldar are so good at contesting you might just be able to focus on crushing things on your objectives while the dark eldar contest you enemies.

If I dropped a Rhino and combined those squads, I could always Combat Squad if necessary.

I'm thinking this:

Grey Knights
Crowe
10 Purifiers - 5 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 4 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
Dreadnought - 2 TL Autocannons, Psybolt Ammo
Total - 1000

Alternatively, I can drop a Psycannon-toting Grey Knight and lose another Psycannon (in favor of a Halberd) and add an Inquisitor with Rad Grenades.

Don't want to rain on the parade mate, but if I remeber rightly DE warriors have to be in squads of 10 minimum? .....and if not...WHY WASNT I INFORMED OF THIS?!?!

The GK side looks good to me though.

Total - 1000

Dark Eldar

3 Wracks - Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
