Hey all,
I'm looking for advice on my 1000 point Grey Knight list. I'm planning on taking it to Wargamescon's doubles tournament this year.
This past weekend, my teammate and I tied for first in a local tournament with the following:
Grey Knights Crowe
6 Purifiers - 3 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
6 Purifiers - 3 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
6 Purifiers - 3 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Razorback with Psybolt Ammo & Searchlight
Total - 998
Dark Eldar Haemonculus - Liquifier Gun
3 Wracks - Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Warriors - Blaster, Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
Ravager - 3 Dark Lances, Flickerfield
Ravager - 3 Dark Lances, Flickerfield
Ravager - 3 Dark Lances, Flickerfield
Total - 1000
In my initial list, I had 3x5 Purifiers and 2 Dreadnoughts. I made a last minute change before leaving the house that morning and it definitely paid off.
However, I think the list could be improved further. Ideally, I could do something like this:
Grey Knights Crowe
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino with Searchlight
Total - 910
As you can see, I have 90 points to spare.
I don't believe the Dreads are necessary in a 1k doubles list. The Razorback wasn't ideal either. I'm used to 2k where I leave a unit behind on a home objective. Wracks handle that just fine.
Suggestions?
