Hi guys. im refining my vampires into this eddition and cant decide on how to work my theme. 1st of all. no zombies i hate them.

lists are in basics...

a skellie list with krell and kemmler.
a strigoi ghoul list.
a vampire beast list with wolves as my core. 2 units of 3 vargheist 2 varghulfs. and a winged bsb vamp hero. and a lord vamp on a terror

and i cant quite get my head around any others...

what would you guys suggest for playability

I am pusseling the next army project myself. I reallt like the fluff of the strigoi ghouls and they look very good on the tabletop!

however... looking at it propey... theures issues with the strigoi ghoul king... he can only be a level 1... and if you want him fighty you have no propper save... and if you put him on a terrorgeist... he has no upgrades at 2k points...

the lroblem with the wolf theme is... no armour... except the characters...

the skellies... well thats more necro counts... than vampire...

Well the ghoul King is plenty fighty. If you want to improve his 5+ regen I do think one of the rare choises can boost his regen to 4+, and with a dragonbane gem that is plenty. also, he is quite safe from all the "save or die" spells out there as his saves are quite good.

I would go for a ghoul king, put him in a big pack of ghouls, use moast of the other points on 2 units of crypt horrors, and one or two units of vargheist. That gives you a strong solid senter to march up. Very agresive and the ghouls might be many enough to break steadfast with the ghoulking winning the fight. He is a powerhouse.

Use the vargheist with thery 20" march to get flank or rear charges. The ghouls should all be powerfull enough to hold for a few turns. With 6 vargheist in the back they loose steadfats and runn. And you do not want some 21 S5 attacks in the flank or the rear. And with 20 in move and flying /skirmish they can really be a pain in the ass and you can dance around your oponent. Perhaps a teror gheist or something but the lasts points you can flesh out for yourself. Perhaps some necromancers ti give you more magic, and some banshees here and there.

I should be fast and funn to paint. The list will be magic light since you get no level 4, but I do think it will be a very funn army to asemble! And it will look greta on the battlefield. After a while as you learn how to play it I am shure you will be abel to tweak it into a top notch army.

I would advuce against having so mutch wolves in core as they cannot charge before turn 2 if you get the first turn. It might fitt in with the vargheist though since they will be reforming a lott to deny flank charges.

ok thankyou... so a killy king... a massive horde of ghouls. and 2 units of 3 vargheists and the rest or horrors? is that enough? perhaos another vampire to keep bringing them back?

The thing about the ghouls + king is that it should be big enough to break steadfast and the king should be abel to winn you the combat.

I think you have the skeleton of the armylist down, but of course, you can do whatever you want with it. But I think it will be a funn list and look great on the tabletop. And I also think it will perform fine.

The Ghoul one looks way more interesting, but there's a few things I would change.
If I were to do a Ghoul list, my Ghoul King would not have a Dispell Scroll (though it doesn't matter very much), nor would he have Dark Acolyte (since he is no good spellcaster), and neither a Talisman of Preservation. For all the points you pay for the Talisman, you only increase his save by 1 (since he already has a 5+ regen, which doesn't combine with the ward). I'd instead give him the Dragonbane Gem (or w/e it's called). It's very cheap and gives him protection from flaming.
That saves you about 90 - 100 pts. Buy him a fancy weapon or something. And if you're really wanting him nasty, swap Curse of the Revenant for Red Fury. But that's by no means a must.
So, my Ghoul King would look like this:
Ghoul King
Red Fury
Dragonbone Gem
Either +3 A sword, or the Screaming sword we have in the book.

Make the Necro lvl 2. And perhaps he should carry the Dispell Scroll (just feels more right). Also, where will you be placing your Necro? With the Ghouls? He'll die when your Lord dies if he's staying with them, defeating his purpose. And he can't go solo, that way he'll die from shooting.
However, the many units of Crypt Horrors and Vargheists is frightening (for your opponent).

Now... I'm just taking a swift peek at the Skellie list. It seems ok, but IMO the Grave Guard needs Great Weapons if you want them to absolutely, positively murder everything. But other than that... The list lacks oomph. The only dangerous unit is the Grave Guard unit. I guess the Black Knights + Hero Vamp could do a little harm, but they're not that scary. I'd try to fit in something more, one more threat.

ghoul list... i gave him accolyte as hell be the only one casting... but what you said makes total sense... i like thw extra wound on him. to make him more survivable... but id probably put the always strikes 1st vamp pkwer on bim and the +3attacks sword... and cool i didnt think about that flame retardent gem :-) thanks ;-)
if i drop 3 varhheists i could put him in a small bunker of ghouls?

and the skellies... this list seems more i.teresting to me... but nobody else lol i didnt think loosing my parry save was worth the slow attacks at st6. due to the fact that they have killing blow anyway...i could drop 30 skellies and the hex wraiths for 30 more vra e gaurd? does that sou.d better?

Yes, it definitively sounds better.
Other than that, I've got nothing more to comment on

would i be better off having the skellies as one large horde? or keeping them as 2 seperate hordes?... and ive just relised that without the 3rd unit of skells... the list isnt legal for my perce.tages.... :-\ recomendations to make the list more "killy" then?

Ah, so you'll have to keep the skellies.
Well, I would probably run them as 2 units of 45 or something. Perhaps one unit of Sword and Shield skellies, and another unit of Spear skellies.
To make the list more killy... Well, I'd drop the hexwraiths, but I know not what to add. Perhaps I would spend the points on more Black Knights. Another option would be dropping the Black Knights too in favor for a second unit of Grave Guards. Or something completely different, for example perhaps a Mortis Engine to grant Kemmler bonus to his casting.

yea unfortunatly... ok so 2 units of 45 skellies... and my gravegaurd... drop the hex wtaiths for... either more gravegaurd... more knights or a caster bonus... im not a fan of cannon magnets to be fair... and i dont have the book with me atm... so i cant work it out yet... what would be better? more knights or more gaurd?
